What a great spot! I will say that the small town of Nixon you have to drive through to get to this spot was a little run down and made my wife and I a little uneasy first driving through. But once we got to the spot we were very happy to have all of it to ourselves. There were a few cars that were out ATVing but left at night. The rock formations are so cool and were a lot of fun to photograph. The main camp spot was a large dirt lot. Slightly slanted, but mainly flat. There were some rock fire rings. Multiple large rigs could fit in this area. There are multiple dirt roads that lead away from the main spot that I assume may lead to more spots, but unsure. No wind the night we stayed. The highway is close, but very few cars went by, so pretty quiet. I loved being surrounded by the mountains, the seclusion, the stargazing at night, and the rocks! Would definitely come back. There was some trash, but nothing too bad or gross.

We parked near the entrance road in a nice flat spot which had room for a Royo of 3 or 4 rigs. Down a short dirt road there is a rock area with room for several rigs depending how the first arrivals park.
If you come in late there is a large gravel area outside the entrance on the hwy. there is room for several rigs.
There are 360 views! Expect wind and dirt, it is the desert. I assume on the weekends it fills with OHV folks. They were coming in as we were headed out.
It’s an easy drive.

Fantastic spot to camp for the night! Stars were incredible and there is plenty of room. There was a good amount of wind but if you park near the rocks it’s not a problem. We came from Moon Rocks where the wind was way worse.

Beautiful, lots of space. Easy to drive mostly flat dirt roads - we have 32’ class A. Nothing anywhere as far as the eye can see. Strong Sprint signal - 4/5 bars!

Wicked cool rock formations in the shape of eyeballs and mushrooms. Clear view across the desert valley and surrounded by mountains on both sides. Cell service is decent depending on where you stand, haha. To get there you get to drive a Scenic Byway overlooking the lake, which is closed off to the general public (non-tribal members).

Otherwise, very nice, quiet campsite in the beautitul Nevada desert. Just off a well maintained road, with relatively well maintained dirt roads to all the sites. The sites have fire pits and not much else, but they're really spaced out with tons of room to breathe. Cell signal was a little spotty, but better than nothing. Overall really about as good as these sorts of places get. Definitely recommend.
PS: Also beautiful Pyramid Lake is very closeby! I believe it is closed as I am writing this due to Covid, but it is still beautiful to drive by on the way to the sites
