“Bring your own water”

The sites are now $20 per night as of June 2024.
And there is no potable water available, campers must bring their own.
All sites have a picnic table and fire grate and vault toilets are there. No reservations are accepted, it is first come basis only and very heavily trafficked.
Mosquitos are thick and only 40% Deet works.
Must pay with exact cash or check, no credit cards accepted.

We camped at Teal Lake for 6 days in mid-June 2018. It was very hot in Denver this week, so the milder temps here were a nice surprise. The weather was dry most of the week, with a few short periods of rain on two of the days. The campground is very nice, quiet, peaceful, a little dusty. The sites are spread out nicely with plenty of room between sites. Most sites have trees, all have picnic tables and a grill. Dumpsters provided. Water was eventually turned on (wasn't on at the beginning of our stay, so bring your own water early in the season). Lots of gulls flying over the lake every day, some blue herons, moose in the area as well as elk and deer. We saw a few bald eagles in the area too. And yes, those darned mosquitoes. Make sure you bring repellant, but still a very beautiful lake and very peaceful and quiet at night. The area is quite wet nearby (lily-pad ponds and swamp-type meadows abound). We saw moose within a few miles of the campsite. Verizon pulled in about 2 bars so we were able to check email. Phone calls in/out were a little garbled. Our rig is about 30 feet but most sites could easily accommodate larger rigs. We would definitely camp here again.
D. Serafin would stay here again

“Horrible roads”

You have to really want to get here. The roads are close to, if not the worst I have ever tryed to pull an RV. Deep ruts, rocks of all sizes, and wash board. It took us 2-1/2 hours to travel from Dry Lake CG to the top. We were caught in a hail storm, water running down the road, slick mud where there wasn’t a rocky base. I turned around at Summit Lake CH, put in 4 wheel drive and inched my way back doen the mountain. The area is beautiful and I am sure the campground is too. Side note that Summit Lake CG did not have a site that would fit our 19’ hybred. Personal thoughts are this group of gampgrounds is not worth tearing up my rig.
