We were traveling to Colorado and just needed a place for the night. The bathrooms weren't very well maintained but it was a great place to pull over and get some sleep.

I wish I had used the shower, b/c the next place we went I was stuck with a coin operated one and the water never got hot - here it was nice and hot and plenty of it. Oh well, if I ever go back!.
When we were there we were the only ones - I'm more comfortable when at least one other person comes. However, it was in town, so we felt perfectly safe.

Other comments: showers were exceptionally basic, with no shower curtains. Didn’t appear very clean, either. Prominent storm shelter at the park entrance.
Free if no electric, but rate asked for electric was relatively high for the type of park. Nobody appeared to be plugged in.
Park is at the end of the runway for a municipal airport.

City Campground is behind a firehouse, I read about this spot on a couple websites, noone mentioned ELECTRIC! tbh, it looks like a brand new system, dirt where they ran the lines still is fairly fresh. There are about 6 sites with electric and other areas that look more like daily use spots with picnic tables and grills. Spot I stayed at shared an electric pole but had 20/30/50 on each side. There is a dump when you pull in, did see some water spouts, there is a bath building. (not user friendly, no door on toilet or shower curtains) I wont say anything bad because if you complain about a FREE site w/ full benefits go stay at a walmart! Verizon jetpack and phone had 3 bars avg!

Well, the weather was pretty ugly our only night at this spot, but for a free campground, we were lucky to find this place. There aren't too many options for free camping while you're driving through this area, so to find this park right off the 27 was wonderful! There's a charging station in the center of the park to charge your laptop or cell phones, great Verizon service, water, and I think there might even be a free dump station. Free AND clean! I guess the park was a "gift" to a family in the St. Francis community. Probably 5 or 6 spots that aren't very clearly marked, with little huts and tables. Very quiet, we were the only ones there- besides a couple cars that drove through to let their dogs off leash and wander around. Not the best scenery, but on a bright blue day this spot would be great!
