Co rd 2 takes you straight into the paved sections of what once was Bonney State Park. The lake has been drained but all the sites for RVs and tents remain along with the buildings that supported the park. The area was cleanand quiet and was sureal to have a park all to ourselves. Co rd 2 takes you straight into the paved sections of what once was Bonney State Park. The lake has been drained but all the sites for RVs and tents remain along with the buildings that supported the park. The area was cleanand quiet and was sureal to have a park all to ourselves. The maps at the campground show that you can access the other campgrounds that were on the other side of the lake via CR3. The other two post went to the more primitive campground that is on a two track and could be much more difficult if accessed during poor weather.

Long drive down a two track, un-maintained dirt path. This area was once a state park but now is over grown. Do not attempt to get here if it has rained or will rain. Google maps tried to take me on county rd 2 through the state park. This road no longer exists. I made to the campground in a two wheel drive 1/2 ton truck pulling a 7x14... more
Long drive down a two track, un-maintained dirt path. This area was once a state park but now is over grown. Do not attempt to get here if it has rained or will rain. Google maps tried to take me on county rd 2 through the state park. This road no longer exists. I made to the campground in a two wheel drive 1/2 ton truck pulling a 7x14 trailer. The road was dry is the only reason I made it. The good thing is total seclusion. And I had good cell reception.

Please do not attempt this area! You can get easily fooled by the maintained dirt roads,.. but if you continue on, past the cow fields, the road turns to 18"deep mud. (I think it is mud, didn't try to confirm) no place to turn around YOU WILL GET STUCK! THERE IS ANOTHER WILDLIFE RESERVE CALLED (Hales Ponds) I'll leave a review for tha... more

(I think it is mud, didn't try to confirm) no place to turn around YOU WILL GET STUCK! THERE IS ANOTHER WILDLIFE RESERVE CALLED (Hales Ponds) I'll leave a review for that separate
