We arrived at night with our 32 Ft Fifth Wheel. Turnoff to the campground was clearly marked. Wasn’t too hard to navigate and set up in the dark. Woke up to still waters, crisp cool air, and a beautiful sunrise. Wish we were closer to the water, but that’s what we get for arriving after dark. The lake Is beautiful! Right off the highway so you hear and see some traffic.

We arrived about 5 PM on Wednesday looking for a place to spend the night while traveling. Google maps says it’s still 6 miles away from where it’s actually at so keep that in mind. We arrived about 5 PM on Wednesday looking for a place to spend the night while traveling. Google maps says it’s still 6 miles away from where it’s actually at so keep that in mind. There is a sign on the road with the name that informs you that this is the right place. we drove through the top sites and they were OK. Then we came down to the bottom sites close to the boat ramp. There are 5 or 6 sites down here that overlook the lake with a beautiful view. We only purchased one night but who knows we may stay a second night just because it’s so beautiful here. The lower site has 2 outhouses men’s and women’s.
There is also a trash dumpster to dump your trash. All sites have a gazebo style cover with a picnic table underneath it. also comes with a rock fire pit. This is dry camping, but the sites are large and very comfortable. You just can’t beat the view either. Road noise is very minimal. T-Mobile has three bars of 5G service. Plenty enough to do streaming and videos. Not sure about Work camping because we don’t do that.

Great place to park for a night or more (2 week max).
Super quiet, gorgeous views of the surrounding mountains.
Sites up top and more down closer to the water. Trash bin and toilets at the mid point

We camped here in our 42' coach for two nights at the upper loop. The pads are not very level but we did find one that we could get level on. Beautiful sunny weather when arrived. We camped here in our 42' coach for two nights at the upper loop. The pads are not very level but we did find one that we could get level on. Beautiful sunny weather when arrived. On the walk down to the Kiosk to pay we found three more camp sites along the road with shelters and fire rings. After paying out fee we continued and found another half dozen camp sites off the end of the payment. They also had shelters and fire rings and were more level than the ones up near the hiway. We found very little trash on our walk, the toilets were clean but short on paper. Verizon had 3 bars.

Much improved from our last stay Nov 3, 2023. Glad to see the fee stations, and information kiosks have been updated and easy to read. BLM needs our help to make their jobs easier. Pay the fees that goes to improvements and keeps the bathrooms clean and stocked with TP. Allows for garbage service to the camping areas. We still see gar... more
Much improved from our last stay Nov 3, 2023. Glad to see the fee stations, and information kiosks have been updated and easy to read. BLM needs our help to make their jobs easier. Pay the fees that goes to improvements and keeps the bathrooms clean and stocked with TP. Allows for garbage service to the camping areas. We still see garbage left in the bathrooms, and empty 1 lb propane bottles left. Pack it in pack it out or at least put it in the garbage bins.

Campsites are flat and a table, shelter and fire ring. Toilets were open and reasonablely clean. Very adequate for a quick overview stay. Nice view of the lake. Highway is close by so some road noise but not bad.

Arrived 1 Nov 2023, for two nights. We selected space 17 on the lower level. The roads are paved, campsites are gravel and fairly level. Our site had a covered picnic table and fire ring. Arrived 1 Nov 2023, for two nights. We selected space 17 on the lower level. The roads are paved, campsites are gravel and fairly level. Our site had a covered picnic table and fire ring. That was it. No water, bring your own, no electricity, no dump station. The trash dumpsters were overflowing, and people do not pick up after their pets. We did not use the restrooms, so we can't speak to their condition. AT&T cell service was 3 bars LTE. Good place to stop for a night or two and the view of the lake was wonderful. Some highway noise but not terrible.

We arrived on Monday the 30th of October 2023. Sadly BLM had not maintained the campground it seemed for some time. The garbage was full and overflowing onto the ground. We called BLM and we were told others had concerns with the full garbage. She stated to us several emails over the last few weeks had been sent to the manager of the campground regarding full garbage containers. Bathrooms were not maintained bring your own TP. Some of the bathrooms were unusable because of the biohazards on the walls and toilet seats. The kiosk was so weathered you could not read the fees. No envelopes to pay your fees. We pay these fees to maintain and add improvements. I would think the BLM would at least use the fees to keep the bathrooms clean, garbage emptied, kiosk updated and readable, and envelopes available so we can pay the fees. Any other remaining fees could go to improvements.

Stayed here in early October 2023. I had been here before when the lake was dead. Nothing but flies. No birds. Stayed here in early October 2023. I had been here before when the lake was dead. Nothing but flies. No birds. But this time there were waterfowl on the lake in the morning and a big flock of happy birds in the evening and morning! As an SUV camper for the most part, I enjoyed this spot. I stayed at a nice hillside site on the lower level and set up my privacy tent because I hate vault toilets. The atmosphere was quiet and relaxed even though there were many campers upper and lower due to the Columbus Day weekend. The picnic tables and fire rings are in great condition, the campsites were clean.
