We had planned to stay at Twenty Mile Beach for a week, but the house flies and sand flies sent us packing.
When we arrived, we unhitched from the trailer near the dumpster to scout out a spot. If you turned right, there was a fantastic spot at the end that was large enough to accommodate a couple rigs, flat and had a great view. Unfortunately, it was already occupied.
To the left, there was also a spot at the end, but less appealing than the one to the right, and could also accommodate a couple rigs. There are also a couple pull-throughs in either direction.
We ended up going straight toward the water. The sandy road was fine for our 4WD truck, but while we were there, we saw a 2WD truck towing a trailer get stuck and it took them hours to get out.
This spot is fine for an overnight, and quite possibly could be ok for a longer stay if there's an off-season for the flies.

As far as cleanliness, there is a dumpster that I am sure helps keep it as clean as it is. The only problem is that there is quite a bit of broken bottle pieces - maybe from people target practicing?

Beautiful view out onto the lake and definitely good for anyone looking to get away from other campers. Ultimately the campground is too close to the highway to be a four star site. It is difficult to get close to the lake without possibly getting stuck. We were the only one's there and the place was actually a bit creepy.

This place is great. We were the only ones there. Easy access from the highway. We took advice of earlier review and went left at the dumpster and took the road to the end. Far enough away from the highway that you could only hear a few trucks. Toilets were very clean

We had an awesome site. There is too much loose sand and dirt if you want to be closer to the water. Beware! We saw three vehicles get stuck. Our campsite was to the left on the road (left of the dumpster). Looks like we got one of the better sites. Someone made a makeshift fire pit but we got rid off and made some major improvements. Hopefully it is still there for others to enjoy. We pretty much had the place to ourselves. Some RVs would come in and stay one night. We also had some tent campers. There are two vault toilets (pretty clean) and one dumpster. The dumpster got emptied when we were there. Be sure to bring your fly swatter. Lots of flies and we were not even near the toilets. We wouldn't recommend swimming in the water. Heard there is a lot of alkalinity and locals stated they don't swim in it. We did see a kayaker. Town of Hawthorne is about 20 minutes away. They have pretty much all the amenities. Overall it was a very peaceful site with beautiful views and we would definitely stay here again even with the flies.

We spent one night here it wasn't to bad not many mosquitos lots and lots of dragon fly's. What isn't in the other reviews if you have a big motor home like us after you turn in go left at the dumpster we went right and had to spend 3 hours digging our tires out lot of loose sand but if you go left the road is firm. The view was awesome

The sun was starting to go down, so it was time to find a place to camp for the night before it got dark. Was so happy I pulled off the road here. Camped down toward the waters edge. There were only a couple of other RVs scattered around the area. I loved the solitude, the quiet and the sense of peace I get when in Nature, where mountains, an expanse of water and sky dominate the landscape. The winds were strong and I was rocked to sleep, like a baby in a cradle, in my trusty Roadtrek "Bella Ella." In the morning there were whitecaps on the lake.
