Note: we had originally gone to the spot on Owl Creek Loop Rd as others had mentioned. The site really wasn't that great. As we were there a Forest Service ranger came by and asked if this was our land. We were informed that it is actually on private property. It is non occupied land though. Forest Service said we could camp there but if the owner came along and said we had to move we would have to move. They don't know who the owner is, but he was just giving us this information to do as we pleased. We told him we would share that information here.
After checking that spot we went down to to the actual Owl Creek Packer camp and found a great spot. We chose one of the first spots on the way in. It was small enough we didn't have to worry about neighbors. Super level site and a big area around it to spread out. We hung a hammock out in the trees.
Before we even parked our rig we saw a small black bear walking around the horse corrals. So definitely be bear aware around here. I wouldn't be surprised if the horses and their feed attract them in.
There are plenty of water spigots around the campsite. Also worth noting there is a $5 dump station next door at Holland Lake. What more could you want?
We did see the 3 sites with electric pedestals. 2 were occupied. 1 was near(but not next to) a sign that said camp spot reserved for horse corral rental. So we didn't camp there on the chance we would have to move. It didn't stop us from running an extension cord to it though. Lol.
Overall a great quite spread out camp ground that is right next to the lake but far enough away not to have to deal with the lake chaos which is what we wanted.

We tried getting a site at Holland Lake, near Condon Mt., but all the sites were full. The camp host told us about this place. The turn off to Owl Creek Packer Camp is just before the boat launch access and isn't marked. We drove around looking for a good site. Three sites even have 30 amp power and water. There are corrals , watering troughs and hay feed bins and vault toilets. Several smaller van/tent sites along with several larger sites. There is even a cabin to rent. As luck would have it, shortly after we arrived, two horse trailers showed up and parked in the site next to us. There were 4 riders and 6 pack animals. They spent the night then hit the trail to go fishing. They returned three days later. There were three other sites occupied during our 4 day stay. We were so glad that Holland Lake sites were full. There were people playing with their jet ski's all day long. We heard the noise in the distance and we were glad we didn't get the "Front Row Seats"! Mosquitoes were not too bad, but got thicker with each passing day!

Similar to the other review by DSVT, we opted to go up FS-9558/Owl Creek Road. We wanted to be a little further from people and this spot was awesome. If you drive up the FS road it is the spot right before mile marker 1. At the fork right off the main road stay right.
I pulled my 22 foot trailer and long bed truck up here no issue/no 4wd. If you nose your rig in it's extremely simple, but I chose to drive past and jack-knife the trailer to back it in. It has been raining a lot and the road is still super easy to get up. Class A might be pushing it but any towed rig would be easy (assuming you nose in).
The views and full bars (roaming for Sprint) that DSVT mentioned are the selling point. My photo is from the camp spot .9 miles up the road (exact GPS coordinates 47.412892,-113.637341). It appears the road keeps going for a while and meets other roads, as well as hit the GPS coordinates campendium has for the lake camping.
Thank you DSVT!!

We were looking for a place to stay in the general area that would be convenient to local hiking trails. We're self contained and don't use the facilities. We stayed a weekend in late July in our 25 foot MH.
We did drive to the packer camp and found it filled with campers and their horses. However, we found 5-6 nice boondocking spots along FS-9558/Owl Creek Road. We opted for a site .9 miles from SR 83 since it had 3 bars of ATT 4G/5 bars LTE with an antenna. The nice view was a bonus. It was a very quiet stay. Dispersed camping is allowed for 16 days.
There is lots of hiking in the area and the Ranger Station in Seeley Lake can help with suggestions and maps. There are several hikes close by at Holland Lake. There is boating and fishing access along SR 83. The town of Seeley Lake has basic supplies, restaurants, etc.
There are grizzly bears in this part of Montana. Follow bear precautions. Ask at the Ranger Station for details.
