This campground is beautiful with plenty of sites (48 I think) that are sufficiently apart from each other. We arrived around 4pm on a Tuesday afternoon and the place was less than 1/3 full. All sites are back in but many are quite long to easily accommodate large rigs. The Lake is lovely and water temp is nice - we took afternoon and evening swims. There continues to be piles of wood everywhere and it makes us wish we could have a fire - no fires allowed with high fire danger risk.
Right off highway and 1-2 bars (ATT) that boost to 3 with WeBoost.

The Lake Alva Campground is made up of two large loops with quite a few campsites along each one. There is no longer a group camping area and that loop is now a day use area.
Most of the campsites were surprisingly large for an old campground and the spacing between campers was decent. You can tell they have chopped down a ton of trees because there are stacks of logs all over the campground.
It does mean slightly less privacy but there is now a ton of free firewood.
We camped here for one night to break up a long trip. We arrived at the campground around 5 p.m. on a weekday and the campground was packed. We didn’t think we would find a campsite, but we lucked out and found a really nice one right before we left.
Soon after setting up camp another camper came and put a tag behind ours to “reserve” the site for the next day. It is supposed to be a first come first serve campground but there are ways to save sites anyways.
Lake Alva is a fantastic place to swim. There’s a nice open swimming area near the day use parking and the water is crystal clear and not too cold. We were wishing we could have spent another night after checking out the lake, but our campsite was already called for.
The vault toilets were pretty clean and there was potable water available.
This is a fantastic campground and a great place for families. The only downside is you have to be a little lucky to get a campsite and about 30% of the campsites may be too small for big trailers or RVs.

Drove in but didn’t stay. They have done a lot of cutting here of trees. The sites are all very visible from each other. Looks like camping on a selective forestry operation. None of the wood or slash has been moved out. It was packed due to the location of the lake but I would not care for it at all.

Water was weird! Several water.locations w/spring-loaded paddle handles & NO threaded hose connections! I got soaked trying to keep a hand-held connection using my rubber "Water Bandit" adapter. Very high pressure! (Hense 4-star review!) We'll need to use jugs or containers & a small drill-pump for next stay.
Close to the lake - just a short walk. Two loops, we stayed in the Southern-most. Map of campsite by USFS does not show the slips. All paved back-in sites. The only two "reservable" sites are group sites.
Be wary of the concrete posts along sides of slips! Bent the motorhome exhaust tips & scratched some cargo doors on my 33' Class-A while backing in.
Mostly shaded. Sun impacted in RV from about 1000 till 1430. Used our generator to run AC for about 3 hours per day.
Seeley Lake was just south & busy due to fire-fighting activity. The entire area was evacuated about a week after we left due to Forest fires. Smoke was not as bad at the campground as it was in Seeley.
