We squeezed our 30' motorhome in one of the outer sites. There is little room between vehicles in this tiny city park campground. It is expensive for what you get, in our opinion. Having said that, we stay here every time we come to Golden because the staff is so good, the facilities are immaculately clean, there are miles of walking trails, and it is so convenient to old town Golden. Be aware that this CG is part of a city park and there are constantly walkers, bikers and tubers walking along the area. We have never had a problem, but we had to get used to it. It's always popular to be sure to book early.

I stayed at Clear Creek RV park in Aug 2023. It is one of the nicest parks I've stayed. My site (site A) backed to the walking path and the creek but was separated from those by a split rail fence. I enjoyed watched people pass by on the busy path and watching "tubers" float down the creek. It is a 10 minute walk along the same path to town for lots of food and entertainment. The park is well cared for, the facilities in excellent condition. The staff were helpful and friendly. The sites are tight. My site barely fit my 18 foot teardrop trailer and mid-size pickup. The site was gravel with a paved pad and a good condition picnic table. I had good 5G ATT service. The park offers wifi. I booked my 2-day stay about a month in advance, not far enough in advance to stay more nights. I paid $85/night.

It was located in the back of Lions Park. The signage helped to find the entrance. We did a little sightseeing, Coors Brewery is located here, and the little town was full of fun places to go. Buffalo Bill is buried nearby, and the museum was very interesting and full of information.

We made a reservation over the phone and paid in full for two nights for our 40’ class A motorhome. A few days later we moved the reservation to arrive and depart one day earlier, also on the phone. Never was it mentioned that our 40-foot RV would be an issue. So, we arrive right at check-in time, see the attendant in the office and receive our paperwork. We are told we are in site I, so we proceed around the very small and tightly packed circle to our spot. When we get the first look at the spot, we realize this is a small space with a tight back-in, but we’ve seen worse and are very experienced at navigating tight spaces. We don’t even get completely backed in before the attendant comes out to say she doesn’t think we can fit in the spot. She said it’s for a 25’ RV, but I had already measured it and since she said if we don’t stick out into the road it should be fine. Then she changed her story and told us we had to leave and that she would not be refunding our full stay of two nights.
We couldn’t believe it. She was adamant about us leaving immediately and said she could not be swayed on the refund. We asked to speak to a manager, or the owner, and she offered to call the police instead. We graciously accepted her offer to call the police because there was a crime being committed here. She went into the office, and we continued to back our rig into the spot to demonstrate that we could fit and that we would not impede the road at all. Indeed, we even parked our car in the spot where it would normally go, and the car stuck farther out into the road than the RV did.
We went back into the office to show her a picture of this and how unreasonable it was for her to kick us out with no refund. She continued to say how it was our fault for not confirming that our RV would fit into that spot, even though I never saw or heard anything about a specific space when I made the reservation on the phone. Clearly, the person taking the reservation should never have put a 40’ RV in a space reserved for 25’ RVs, but this was not our mistake. I completely understand if we were oversized for the space (which we were not), but to not even admit to the mistake, make apologies, and offer a refund just goes to show how quick this place is to steal your money.
Once we returned to the office again, she was on the phone with the owner or manager – after attempting to call the non-emergency police line first – they finally did offer us a refund. Yet, they kept $13.50 of the total which amounted to the taxes. This could have just been a simple mistake and misunderstanding, but the attendant in the office held no empathy or compassion, nor a desire to even learn where the mistake could have been made – she immediately insisted it was out fault elevated things to the highest level. We will never consider this campground again and will spread the word to all of our full-timing friends about this place in Golden.

Spent the first two weeks of April here. The RV park is in a great location, near enough to walk to downtown Golden. Also has great walking and biking trails off the park. We enjoyed our stay here. The staff was very nice, the bathrooms, showers and laundry room were kept very clean. Also the city of golden offered WiFi for this park.

Site z must be the smallest site possible and perfect for our teardrop trailer. We walked the path to Golden for breakfast and spied the block M ( Colorado school of Mining -not University of Michigan) on the mountain at night. Clean well maintained facilities.

We were in the water and electric only sites which didn’t have the creek views but had a little more privacy as the public walking trail wasn’t right behind our rig.
The sites are well kept and level. The bathhouses are clean, the laundry is nice and $1.50/wash and $1.50/dry.
No issues with cell service or internet for work.

Great little park right in town. Walking distance to all of Golden.
The spots are snug, but we had no problem getting backed in. There are picnic tables and concrete pads for each spot and great shade trees!
Really the hardest part was figuring out the reservation system. I had a set of days we had to be there. You can only book 60 days out and you have to choose a spot that is large enough for your rig! For us, that really limited it. So to be safe, as soon dates opened up and a spot was there that would fit us, I booked about 4 days longer (on the front end) than needed to make sure we got a spot. It did cost me one night's fee when I canceled those days, but I wanted to make sure we got it. It fills up fast!
Verizon coverage was 1-2 bars maybe. I put up our cell phone antenna and got it to a very usable 3-4 bars. The WIFI is the City of Golden's WIFI and was unusable for us.
Well worth it!
