We camped here on November 10, 2023. We almost had the place to ourselves. There were a few people fishing the edge of the lake and one other RV on the far side. Big sites. Dry camping only. $16. So much nicer than staying at a busy RV park.

Great place for a quick stopover on our way home to Boise. It was quiet, quick and easy. Great access to highway 20. Several sites would have accommodated our 35 foot fifth wheel. Be sure to check out the stars at night! It was dark and great for stargazing. Would definitely stay again.

I arrived on Thursday and there’s plenty of sites available. Got one by the water. Pit toilets are clean. Very quiet. Three bars of streamable Verizon. Sites are $16/night with half off with Senior Pass. You drop your money envelope in the slot. Did not see any staff. Beautiful scenery and trails to walk on.

As of the first of the year the BLM has doubled the camping fee to $16 ($8 with Golden Geezer cards). Still an excellent bargain for this little gem.

Sites have picnic tables, fire pits and there are trash cans available for garbage disposal. There are pit toilets scattered throughout the campground. Our site was level and long enough for us, stayed 2 nights. About 4 -5 other campers each night, everyone spaced out. Very little road noise. There was a water spigot on the Fish Cleaning building that had a drinking water symbol above it and did dispense water, not sure I’d count on it, though. Lake is dry with cows grazing. Very cool spot to stay. Easy off/on Hwy 20.

No water in the reservoir but lots of wildflowers. Hardly anyone here so everyone has lots of privacy. Windy. Great spot to stop and relax over night on our way from Oregon to Maine.

We obtained fuel and water from the Shell Station in Hines as we passed through from Salt Lake City. The staff there are very nice and friendly! We did see a Hines Market just as you got East out of town that has a Dump Station, if you need. Not sure how much space they have for big rigs to maneuver around.

I’m traveling between Tillamook and Boise. This stop is a perfect location for my layover night before heading for Boise in the morning. Nice views, no trees or shade, sites are gravel and level. There is a bit of highway noise from Hwy 20, but it is very slight. I am definitely staying here later this summer!
