Spent one night here and saw no one else (besides cows). Very quiet and pretty area. Dirt road to get in is short and in pretty good condition. I had decent cell service (T-Mobile) and internet connection.

After reading the previous two reviews we decided to give this dispersed camping area a try. Road is as advertised...pretty rough at first, smoothed out a bit but still took us about 40 minutes to travel the 4 miles or so to where we stayed. We have a Chevy 2500HD crewcab & Jayco 26BH which is 30’ long bumper to hitch. We chose the second camping area as the first one seemed too tight and not level for us. Also, someone left a homemade toilet which was basically a wooden box with a toilet seat on top...not a value add. The second sight is off the road on its own small loop, a little bumpy getting in but levels out nicely. Beautiful and windy and not another soul around except the cows and the deer. Worth the drive.
Notes:
We walked the road beyond the second site for another mile or so and didn’t see anywhere that would be suitable for a towed rig to turn around easily.
Elevation is 5072’ - expect seasonal temps accordingly.
AT&T service was decent with 2 bars which meant we could send and receive texts/emails as needed.

We drove in here earlier today. We drive a RAM-2500 pickup and tow a 32-foot Wildcat Maxx 5th wheel. We'll stay for a couple days.
If you tow an RV back to this first available spot. The first camping spot is almost exactly 4-miles in on the left side of the road and has a circular drivable dirt path around the outside of it. It was very tight for us. Truck and 5th wheel together measure 50-feet. (I would NOT bring in anything any bigger unless you plan a cutting down trees to get back out to the road.) ALSO! If you do tow in a RV to camp at this spot, I strongly recommend you enter making a clock-wise circle.
The first 9/10ths mile off the highway is very bumpy because some moron did 4-wheel slides down that part of the road when it was muddy. After that it is just a moderately bumpy dirt road. The road is not muddy today. It is hard-packed and dusty. So any vehicle will easily be able to drive in here. But, we drove in at 12-mph just to try to keep the dust down.
There is another camp about 3/4ths mile further in on this same road, also on the left. The two campsites cannot see one another at all. We did not go in to the second campsite because there was (what looked to be) about a 24-foot bumper-tow camper RV in that site.
It's 11:35 pm as I write this, and I just came back in from a stellar view of the Milky Way. We have not seen a car or person since we arrived. We have a cell-phone signal booster. So, our report of the Verizon coverage is based on that signal booster. Earlier this evening, we went took the dog for a walk. While on the walk, we received text message from our granddaughter, but the picture sent with the text did not come in. So, there is cell service without a booster, but I think it is minimal.
WATER AND DUMP-STATION: The Dump-Station at the Rest Stop near here is closed. There is no drinking/potable water that can be put into an RV at the Rest Stop. (Come to think of it, we couldn't find a working drinking fountain at the Rest Stop.) They've stacked a lot of heavy concrete blocks right on top of what used to be the Dump-Station, so don't look to make use of that. We drove back to the Store/RV-Park at Riley and paid $5 to fill our fresh water tank from the same faucet they use to water the lawn.
One Final Note: We travel with 40 stackable Camco leveling blocks. We used 30 of them to get the RV leveled today.

Found a site about 10-15 minutes off the highway. Very quiet- only heard cows. Saw one other camper located off the road, but nowhere near us. It was a good stop between Bend and Boise.
