Overall Rating

This is a lovely spot, all by itself in an open glade. FR 231 is pretty rough but accessible to smaller vehicles even with 2 wheel drive. Not recommended for larger motorhomes or trailers. Spot is about 2 miles east from Hwy 14 near the Owen Creek Forest Service Campground. Closer to 14 is a well known open meadow area with many camp opportunities, but this little spot is much quieter and more isolated. We loved it. We came in off of FR 26 from the east side, which is a longer and rougher route, but very pretty. Some ATV traffic, but not too bad.
