Do these sites require any registration? And is it just 2 camp sites? Or as many as can fit?

There's a couple big parking lot "official sites" but I wouldn't stay in those, unless you want to be 5 feet from your neighbor. There are plenty of more private camp sites down the side roads. There's a couple big parking lot "official sites" but I wouldn't stay in those, unless you want to be 5 feet from your neighbor. There are plenty of more private camp sites down the side roads. They have signs that say "no camping down this road" but they're clearly camp sites. On our second day here a ranger came in and we spoke with him. He couldn't have cared less that we were in the "no camping" section. His only concern was that people weren't staying over 14 days. As long as you don't over stay or make a mess, you're fine. Pretty much all the sites down the "no camping" roads fill in the evening. Beautiful views. I had full 5 bars of 5g ATT (we were steaming videos each night, and did Zoom with no issues) on a site on the cliff by the virgin dam. Our freind next to us had 1 bar of Verizon that was in and out.
The only real negative is the roads are rough, and you have to really pick your line coming in. Our pickup could go through just fine, but our minivan you had to weave around the ruts and holes. I wouldn't take a low slung car down the side roads

There is an awesome park really close by with actual water that you can swim in called Falls Park! Took the dog and we loved it.
20 minutes from Zion.
Had to move to La Verkin bc of no Verizon service. Bummer.

Same goes for all camping in the area.
Be aware that if you're not camping in the big area next to this one....there are only two spots over here. One is when you first come in, second left turn down by trees, the other is the third left in an open area. Both have a metal fire ring. If you camp outside of that a Karen who lives nearby will come take pics of your license plate and send them to the BLM. Not that they care, but she's very annoying. Do yourself a favor and camp only in those two areas.

There is a free dump station at the Maverik gas station with potable water. The grocery store across the street from Maverik has a hardware store and pharmacy included.
I would definitely recommend this place.

We stayed here on our way out of Zion National Park. It’s a convenient location but the roads are quite rutted and the wind was atrocious when we stayed. We made the mistake of staying on a side road running parallel to route 9 because the sites that were further away were either full or the road was too rutted for our low clearance vehicle to navigate. When the wind kicked up that night, unfortunately our RV was parked perpendicular to the direction of the wind. We got pummeled. It made for a long, miserable night. If you stay here, be sure you check the wind forecast and direction. I also would not stay here if it was forecasted to rain. That said, we did have cell reception and the town of La Verkin is conveniently nearby.

It was very windy our 1st night, but lovely the rest of the time. Definitely unorganized as to which sites are which, and there are people camping everywhere - although the area is so huge there are plenty of secluded sites. We were on the edge of the Virgin River canyon directly above the dam and couldn't have asked for a more perfect location. We came to the area from LaVerkin - Maverik station with free dump and water at turn off - just up the hill, just passed the boring point of interest. Bike trails are all over the area, but still nearly an hour each way to get to Gooseberry and Guacamole, Still, if you want to ride the whole area, it's pretty central. Mice invaded us after about 5 days - we trapped about 7-8 over our last 4 or so days. Boondocking 101 - seal up entry points in the underbelly - lesson learned. Verizon was spotty without weboost, perfectly useable wifi with it though.

Crazy winds!!! Gusts of 60mph. Started setting up camp because the sun was setting, but decided to bail.
Beautiful views. Tough roads. Don’t go too far down or you will not be able to turn around and have to back out the majority of the way.

It was right behind a hill so you can’t see the site from the road. Across the street there is private land that has no camping signs but every night new people would pull in and camp. The site has a fire ring and is fairly level. Up the road and across the river are 40+ more camping sites that are numbered. It is an awesome free camping site that is close to La Verkin with a gas that has free dump and water and 20 mins from the Zion. We will camp here again in the future.

We have a 32 travel trailer, roads were rough and very rutted. We parked in the designated camp area, which was basically a big circle. There were plenty of other staying there, but respectful enough spacing. Most of the offshoot roads had no camping after a certain point. Out site had a fire ring.
