“Great free camping close to Zion”

Reviewed Jun 03, 2019

Overall Rating

We stayed here for 3 nights with two other vehicles. We parked our 20 ft micro Minnie, a sprinter van, and a 36 ft 5th wheel all in this spot. It was right behind a hill so you can’t see the site from the road. Across the street there is private land that has no camping signs but every night new people would pull in and camp. The site ... more

“Beautiful views, rough rutted roads ”

Reviewed Apr 15, 2019

Overall Rating

We have a 32 travel trailer, roads were rough and very rutted. We parked in the designated camp area, which was basically a big circle. There were plenty of other staying there, but respectful enough spacing. Most of the offshoot roads had no camping after a certain point. Out site had a fire ring.

Upon scouting out sites I figured I'd go give this one a shot and when I arrived I found a truck and trailer stuck blocking the entrance. Even with 4×4 this area is just to muddy right now in March.

The road down to the dam is permanently locked. The road past the dam is washed out. 3 usable camping areas within 1/2 mile of the hwy.

“Camping in numbered sites only now ”

Reviewed Feb 10, 2019

Overall Rating

Very disappointed to see several of these roads closed now and parking allowed in numbered sites only with VERY few showing as RV sites vs tent sites. Not sure if you could get away with putting an rv in a tent site (several people were) but we didn’t want to get a fine so we eveually found an RV site (right next to another RV site, ug... more

“Rough Road, Great Views”

Reviewed Jan 12, 2019

Overall Rating

There is a ton of free camping options near Zion National Park. This one was a great spot for larger rigs with only a 20-25 minute drive to Springdale and Zion. The road getting in here was very bumpy, but totally manageable if you drive slow. We have a dually and a 36 ft fifth wheel toy hauler and managed. There were plenty of Class A... more

“Amazing views, quick access to Zion”

Reviewed Dec 30, 2018

Overall Rating

Easy to find, though the tune off is on a bend and we about passed it! Coming the weekend of Christmas, the entire area was empty aside from one trailer far away. We grabbed the first big site with a ring because the road really is bumpy! We explored the area on foot a bit and discovered there are other massive sites that can be driven... more

“Quiet comfortable overnight - just go slow”

Reviewed Dec 01, 2018

Stayed here with our 39’ Fuzion 5th Wheel. Amazing LTE speeds (AT&T). Two sites off the main road were taken so we went down the side road (turn right after the kiosk/sign) and found plenty of openings. Quite a few dips and mud puddles disguised some to look not so bad. Lost the RV license plate and tore up the bumper a little bit, so ... more

There are 3 clearly marked camping areas not far from the highway. Beautiful views of hurricane ridge. It’s not a huge space but there is room for at least 8 campers I would say. About a half hour from Zion or St George.

“Very windy spot”

Reviewed Oct 11, 2018

Overall Rating

This spot is great if you have a big rig or trailer. Wouldn’t recommend for tent campers as it gets super windy. We were in a trailer and still moved the next day because of the high winds. Some roads are a little rough off the main road but should be fine if you have a 4x4 or SUV. Will need a bit of clearance
