"Good for weary travelers"

Beautiful forest and open camp. It's close to highway, so lots of truck noise. We tried it out and found it a good spot to get off the road. Forest people take good care of it.

Spent one night on my way to south Dakota. Plan on coming back for a few days. Very quiet and some cool campers doing the van thing. Privy reasonably clean and spots well defined. One tip, when you come to crossroads, turn left or right for... Read more

"Quiet Beach Camping Getaway"

Magnolia Beach seems a tad isolated, but it's only about 7 miles from Port Lavaca. The bathrooms are reasonably clean. It has Beach showers to rinse off or a cool wash up, and there's plenty of hard-packed sand to park or tent at the water's edge.... Read more

"Good Place to Car Camp Overnight"

I crashed here on three different occasions. It's reasonably quiet, clean, and the lights weren't blinding. My biggest issue with rest areas is the bright lights keeping me awake. I'd overnight here again

"Not worth the 5 bucks "

I must admit, I got turned around on padre island due to no signal when I arrived at night. I was looking for North Beach, road was closed and ended up here. They're building toilets, none in RV area. It's very windy, no amenities (except trash)... Read more
