Don’t know what it’s like on a packed holiday but we’re glad to have found this. Waterfront and quiet, beautiful sunrise. Restroom and showers close by the picnic tables designated for day use only, pretty little secluded location we just loved it.

This place was packed with campers. Mostly snowbirds. There were some spots south of the popular beach where you could camp without having another camper 20 feet away.

Gale force winds for two days, but you are totally exposed to the bay, so it is what it is.
Public washrooms were clean and re-stocked every day. Garbage cans were emptied daily as well. How can you go wrong with the price of $0.00? You can't!
There is a nice HEB grocery store in Port Lavaca, about 12 miles away. Small downtown area, but worth the trip to support local vendors, as we always do.
The beach was very clean, we barely found garbage to pick up, which we did when we came across any.
2-3 bars of Verizon, so that was nice.
Would definitely come back during the slow season, but I would be hesitant during high season due to potential crowding.
What a great place!

This is a wonderful site to bring your RV or to tent camp. There is lots of room, toilets, outside showers, trashes and lots of seashells on the beach. It’s free and we’ll taken care of.

They had the shower doors locked one morning but remained open and unlocked most of 3 days I was there. The rv parking area is crushed shell and sand so I had no problem at all with my 2wd truck.
Might want to consider having a grass door mat to wipe your feet as the sand and shell tends to get tracked into the rv. There are no hookups but you can fill your water jug at the showers. I had a great time and will definitely return!

Spent much time in the shade of the cabana. No worries about tides or blowing sand. With a picnic table, fire pit, trash bins, restrooms and free cold showers (indoor and out), still can’t believe one can camp for free up to 14 days! This alone feels so welcoming! Let’s show our gratitude by keeping it clean!

We stayed there right before the July 4th weekend and it was great family fun. Clean, plenty of space, and restrooms were somewhat clean. They have open camping and RV spaces so you’ll see a combination of both. Sun was lit, though! Some people with loud generators is expected just scope it out before choosing your parking location.

No spots left any where along the actual beach. Got a spot down at the end by the fishing pier....super windy and the rig was splashed by sea water all night. In the morning when we drove out the beach area was nearly deserted with a few RVs and travel trailers. We will definitely try again here but next time avoid a holiday weekend!

We stayed here for 7 nights in late April. The weather wasn't too bad, but very muggy. Seemed like RVers did a good job of spreading out along the beach, and I don't think anyone would have any issues getting a spot. A good amount of people come during the day for beach trips then leave. They do have shower and bathroom facilities, but they are not anywhere as clean as other reviews seem to suggest. In their most basic sense, the water is fine for showering and you can use it, but I opted to use the shower in our RV due to the cleanliness. My thought was it may not be cleaned as often as before due to COVID, but not sure. Never felt unsafe on the beach! We stopped for groceries at Walmart in Port Lavaca, which is about 20 minutes away. Keep in mind it is pretty hard to find anywhere to put your trash as it is a pack in, pack out beach. We found a business that allowed us to throw our trash away, but you may have to wait til your next stop, so be prepared.
