“Wow! This was great. Best free camping find ever!”

Reviewed Feb 19, 2018

We found this location because it is the featured location on Campendium's Home page! The GIS coordinates were right on. Just pull up and park anywhere you want. There were cabanas for picnicking. Restroom and showerhouse with hot water. Wonderful experience. Great neighbors. There is a little fishing marina on down the road whe... more

“Free Beachfront? No way!”

Reviewed Feb 17, 2018

Thanks to our friends at Campendium, we pulled in for a stay. What a super nice place to while away some time. There’s plenty of room to find some space and enjoy a little peace on the bay. The beach is compacted sand and crushed shell, probably deposited over rip-rap to make it stable. But, it’s perfect for parking a rig on. Bathro... more

We would stay here again! BEWARE - there is a bridge that has a max load limit of 10,000 lbs. This didn't stop a lot of other rigs, but with hefty fines and the potential to ruin your rig, think twice before you drive over it. There's awesome camping on either side of the bridge, so nothing to worry about!

We loved this place!! Camping 10 feet from the beach for free! -The access getting to the beach is great even for big rigs. The beach is hard pack which makes it great to drive on -There are plenty of garbage cans along the beach that seemed to be emptied often -Bathrooms were pretty clean and re-stocked with toilet paper on Tuesd... more

We were here in mid October and were a little worried since Hurricane Harvey passed through this area in late August -- but we arrived to a clean, open beach with very little evidence of the storm. The sand is pretty hard-packed and we had no problem driving on it, although it does get softer the closer you get towards the water. We ... more

I luv this place. It's makes you feel free and while it's not your typical beach experience it is awesome. We found a strip of beach front land that has natural little coves you can camp at and it's like having your own private cove. The fishing isn't that great off the beach and the wind can be horrible but it's still a great place to... more

Enjoyed our stay at Magnolia Beach. There's almost 2 camping areas - a large open lot area next to the water, and an area closer to the restrooms/showers with some covered picnic pavilions. We chose the former. There you can spread out and not feel cramped in next to another camper. Plus, we could always walk down the showers or bat... more
