Turned off the main highway, got chatting to a resident who advised going up the "62". Went about a mile, lots of spots, all clean, plenty of room, very peaceful. Road good (hire car) and access easy. Had a visit from our local law enforcement...
We opted to camp here after flying into LA from UK to recover from jet lag.
The site is lovely, clean, we'll run, the only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is we thought 25 was a bit expensive (drop toilets, no shower)

Stayed 12th September, hot, 35c, pitches have shade, some more than others, water and pads for tents. They have HOT SHOWERS! it's usd10 to enter the park and 10 to camp, good value IMO.
The park is incredible, a must see.
Tent campers from UK here. First boondocking experience in the US. Road a little bumpy but our hire car coped fine. Just a couple of us up there, plenty of room, a large RV parked at the head as I don't think he would have made it down. ...
