"More expensive than the TX state parks but very nice experience"

Nice very well spaced RV sites and clean bathrooms/showers. 2 bars of LTE for Verizon and ATT. Lots of deer and great bird watching. We fished from the shore and caught large mouthed bass and crappy. Would stay here again but wish the price was a... Read more

"Our favorite TX state park so far"

We loved this park. I am giving it 5 stars even though the cell service was poor. No Verizon service and 2 bars LTE with ATT. It was very clean, nice level sites and dark skies at night. There are many miles of very well maintained trails for... Read more

"Lots of great walking trails and large Well spaced RV sites"

Good Verizon and ATT service. Huge RV sites with a lot of space between sites. Friendly helpful staff. We saw lots of wildlife on the miles and miles of walking trails to include javelinas, white tail deer, armadillo and countless bird species.... Read more

"Don’t use the showers or bathrooms"

Brantley is a very nice state park. The lake is great and there are lots of walking trails. The RV sites all had electric/water and great views of the lake and Chihuahuan desert. Both Verizon and ATT work well here. The bathrooms and showers are... Read more

"Just OK"

RV sites were nice and level and had water and electric. Restrooms were not clean. There are a lot of wetlands around the campground which made it very buggy (lots of biting flies and mosquitos). So it was difficult to spend much time outside... Read more

"Very nice park"

Very nice park. Restrooms very clean. AT&T great service but no Verizon service. All the water/electric RV sites have a covered casita picnic area. Felt safe because the rangers patrol frequently.

"Nice campsite but beware blue green algae"

This was a really nice campground. The sites were paved and had fire rings and picnic tables. The bathrooms were clean. The water was disappointing. The reservoir is filled with blue green algae which is toxic to animals and humans. Don’t let your... Read more

"Good stay easy Access from Hwy 50"

If you have a larger rig, turn right onto road 74 (off of road 650). On 74 there are larger dispersed sites where you can easily turn around. If you turn left it is 74B and the sites are difficult to turn around or back in large vehicles. There is... Read more

"End of September and no services and no cell service"

When we arrived at the end of September the water was shut off, the dump station was closed and the flush toilets were closed. This information should have been posted on the website or on the highway sign before you turn onto a very bumpy and... Read more

"Do not attemt with a 30' or larger fifth wheel or RV"

The lake is located 12 miles off I-90. The first two miles are paved and the final 10 miles are on a single lane dirt national forest service road. There are very few places to pull over if you encounter another vehicle coming in the opposite... Read more
