Just what we were looking for. It is perfect for our size trailer, (21’) . Anything much bigger might have an issue with the bridge and steep gravel access road. I actually used 4 wheel drive leaving up the hill so I didn’t chew up the road. We were in # 9 . Seems it was the easiest for leveling and largest as well. Not all the sites in the upper c/g were big enough for our set up, but this one was perfect and on the river. I think there is one double site in the upper c/g and one in the lower c/g as well. Although, bigger rigs than ours should probably not go into the lower c/g as access is pretty tight along the road and into the c/g. There was only one other family in the whole c/g, so, we pretty much had it all to ourselves! Watched all kinds of kayakers and rafters go by! I’d go back there in a second long as the weather is good!!!
Mike would stay here again

We stayed here just as the weather was turning cold and the FS started closing some of their campgrounds, turning off water, etc. we got good info on what was still open from the Stanley visitor's center and set out to find our spot on the River. We loved the site as soon as we saw it. Compared to the other CGs along the river this one was much more "in" the woods/canyon/river. Much more beautiful. People with. Ginger rigs than ours may hesitate. We were fine.
Our only complaint was the bathroom - not the tidiest. End of season? Sites however were pristine. It was in all other ways idyllic. We even saw an eagle! It was close enough to Stanley and cell service to pop over and we did a GREAT day trip in the other direction to Lemhi Pass, where Lewis and Clark crossed the continental divide. It will be closed for the season Sometime in the coming weeks.
Meg and Ben would stay here again

The Great Divide
Though we had both read Undaunted Courage by Stephen Ambrose some years back, now that we were in the thick of Lewis and Clark historical country here in Idaho, it was time for a major review. Spoil...
