“Restful, Fun Activity, Quiet Nights”

Reviewed Aug 11, 2018

Overall Rating

Stopped here because I saw a review. This is a great place! Lots and lots of spaces, many with full hookups like I had or you can dry camp for $10.60 a night. Bathrooms are individual rooms with shower, sink, and toilet - all clean and well lit. Magic Valley Reining Horse Association had a competition and several 4-H activities were going on. It was fun to watch it all. I would say this to other campers, this is RV parking for fair ground activities, not expressly for you and not to exclusively do business with you so please be respectful and courteous to campers here for activities. Give them space, be respectful, and enjoy the activity. I was shocked to see a huge Class A from Nevada come in, park right next to a horseman's trailer and open their awning that nearly touched the other trailer. There were more than 50 sites open, more than ten in that row next to the horseman's trailer, some sites with better shade, and yet they were right on top of the horseman. Very bad manners and a blackeye for all RVers.

“Very Quiet With Lots Going On”

Reviewed Jun 18, 2017

Overall Rating

This is a large county fairground with dozens of buildings, a very large arena, a smaller concert area and multiple agricultural "streets". Over the course of the two weeks we were there the grounds hosted two concerts, a parade, two 4-H events, an American Kennel Associate dog show, a Taxidermy Art Show, a Big Truck and Engine Show and three times a week the local Junior Riding Club showed up with their horses for practice in the ring. We enjoyed all of this for FREE! There is a world-class Memorial Rose Garden on site with benches for contemplation.
The managers and staff of the fairground were very friendly & helpful.

In addition, there is plenty to do in the Snake River Valley including kayaking, hiking, and wineries. Craters of the Moon National Monument and Rock City are both within two hours, and both Hagerman National Fossil Beds and Hagerman National Fishery are within 35 minutes. Balanced Rock is about 20 minutes away.

The fairground campground has a brand new shower house with very clean private shower rooms/bathrooms. This campground is large and configured well for a rally. There is no pool or rec room but that is a small price to pay for this super clean park. The daily rate is $20 a night but if you stay all week, they only charge you for five days! There is a two week maximum stay.
