Nice quiet county campground along the river. Bathrooms are very clean. There are lukewarm showers that are $.25 a minute with a three minute minimum. There’s no dump station and there’s no electricity. Some sites have hook up water. There is a free 24/7 dump at the sanitation department in Hood River. The sites are a bit small but wh... more
Nice quiet county campground along the river. Bathrooms are very clean. There are lukewarm showers that are $.25 a minute with a three minute minimum. There’s no dump station and there’s no electricity. Some sites have hook up water. There is a free 24/7 dump at the sanitation department in Hood River. The sites are a bit small but when we were there people were fairly spread out as it was not full.
This was a really good place to chill out while exploring the area. Many of the campgrounds in this area are on or near the Columbia river along which passes a busy highway and train weigh. Those campgrounds would be noisy. The price is good on this and if we came back this is where I would stay.

Just needed an overnight, and thought we were getting electric since I always limit search by "partial" or "full" hookups. The only hookup is water, which makes $35 a little steep. Just needed an overnight, and thought we were getting electric since I always limit search by "partial" or "full" hookups. The only hookup is water, which makes $35 a little steep. But a quiet night at a beautiful spot, though an odd layout to the park. Everyone had to move a picnic table to get into their space. The tent camper next to us felt it fitting to place his tent about 3' from my side of the van for some reason, though he had ample room all around. For the woods, didn't feel very private. But pleasant enough. Self pay station at front. No Verizon bars.

Perfect spot to set up so you can explore the Hood River area (only a few minutes from town)! My spot (72) was tucked back in the trees, across from the river. Perfect spot to set up so you can explore the Hood River area (only a few minutes from town)! My spot (72) was tucked back in the trees, across from the river. Sweet little trail down to the water, and space for the pup to swim safely. No hookups, but they did let me fill my water when I was leaving. Showers were pretty gross, but water pressure was good and it was only $1.50 for 6 minutes! I originally planned for two nights, but kept extending. If the heat wave hadn't arrived, I'd still be there!

Found ourselves in the dark needing a place to stop, Took a chance on this little campground. What a pleasant surprise. Quiet and clean. Some really beautiful sites right on the river which is a lovely white water Zen river.

Great price. Our location allowed for solar panel changing; no electrical/water hookups. Grass green and manicured; gravel site. Clean bathrooms; covid masking done. Good shower. A variety of sites for all camping types. No reservations; come early. Manager allowed us in @ 1 hour early. Overflow parking available; our site... more
Great price. Our location allowed for solar panel changing; no electrical/water hookups. Grass green and manicured; gravel site. Clean bathrooms; covid masking done. Good shower. A variety of sites for all camping types. No reservations; come early. Manager allowed us in @ 1 hour early. Overflow parking available; our site without extra space for tow vehicle.
Only problem we had was rules regarding generator usage and dog leash @ campsite.
At the pay station is an info board with park rules which do not include length of dog leash or generator use. Rules: dogs are to be leashed and quiet time noted.
Generally one uses a 6ft leash when walking dog. In many campgrounds, there are specific generator run times given and quiet time is @ 10-8am. We are seasoned RV-ers.
I drove in first to pick a site; my hubby with RV later. I was met by a friendly and helpful manager who told me that if you are running your generator 3-4 hours to expect a knockoff the door. Goal is to allow the sound of the river to "be" as compared to noisy generators. Later manager told my husband that dog leash at campsite is 6' and that generator use is 1 hour. Our dog was on a long leash connected to our RV. The generator was out by RV to charge our house batteries. My husband was ready to leave!!! Lucky that this shady/sunny site allowed for good solar recharging and that generator was never used. We did the 6' leash rule when off campsite! Later noted that generator use was a bit long by some a neighboring RV.
Wish that rules were explicit on info board and the same when verbally given. Perhaps timing of rule enforcement when violation occurring, not when just settling in. My husband cooled off! 4* due to this.

Stayed here on our way to the Oregon coast and also on our return. Easily accessible for smaller rigs. Our 18ft trailer and pick up could fit in almost all the camp sites. Stayed here on our way to the Oregon coast and also on our return. Easily accessible for smaller rigs. Our 18ft trailer and pick up could fit in almost all the camp sites. Any larger and it will be difficult. We saw a number of 5th wheels drive thru and then leave. The campground is quiet after dark and has a picnic table and water at each site. There are 2 shower/restroom buildings. The one on the lower loop next to the Hood River is newer and in much better shape than on the upper loop. The lower loop also has some possible drive thru sites.
Good location will stay here again on our travels thru Oregon.

First come, first served park right on the Hood river with various options for camping. We stayed here in late August in our 32' TT and there were only a few sites we could fit in. We stayed in the Middle Fork camp area at the end of the loop and had to park our truck near the restrooms. Lots of water spigots available at nearly every site. Bathrooms and showers are clean but old in the middle loop...showers in the west fork loop are new and individual rooms. Middle Fork has lots of grass and paved sites. Great price for a beautiful setting that is very quiet, even on a weekend. The West Loop is great for tents especially many right along the river.
Great location to lots of things to do in Hood River - about 10 minutes to town, 30 minutes up to views/hiking in Mt Hood! We would definitely stay here again!!

We'd read that Tucker County Park was big rig friendly. We pulled in, and the park host approached us with huge eyes. We'd read that Tucker County Park was big rig friendly. We pulled in, and the park host approached us with huge eyes. "Your RV is.... really big," he said, looking it up and down (we're just shy of 33'). He invited us to hop in his golf cart, and he showed us some potential options. There were quite a few we could fit in, but after seeing the park for ourselves, we probably wouldn't recommend this campground for rigs over 40'. There ARE sites that will fit rigs this size, but getting into them is tricky, due to a steep hill and some sharp corners.
We loved Site G, with easy access to the bathrooms, a glimpse of the Hood River out our back window, a fair bit of privacy, and access to the Hood River walking trail (wear your boots! It's steep in places!). We could open our window to hear the rushing river, and it drowned out the sounds of other campers.
The sites only have water, no electric or sewer. There are a few sites with plenty of open skies for solar; we elected a shaded spot to keep cool, and just ran our generator about an hour a day. There's a 7-day limit, officially, although the park host indicated it might be possible to stretch it out by a few more days if we'd asked nicely.
Hood River is a fantastic, adorable town, and this is one of the most affordable nearby options, at about 15 minutes away. If you rely on internet, bring your booster, because that was the only way we could get decent internet. The park host also mentioned the sites deeper in the park, which tended to be larger, also tended to have worse cell phone reception. Staying near the front is probably the best bet.
