There's one small sign at the road and Alaska residents like it that way. Price reflects the senior discount. Entrance road is gravel with potholes. There are three loops with the first loop (River Terrace, sites 1-29) seeming to get more use, but the third loop (Eagle Point, sites 62-90) has a couple sites with direct lake access. The second (Spruce Woods, sites 30-61) and third loops had more weeds growing in their gravel pads than the first loop. Some sites are short pull-throughs but most are properly angled back-in sites. The campground was very quiet but close enough that you could hear the train from Seward when it passed by.
There were a few tent only sites that are secluded even from the loop road, and some sites that had slope issues. Bear resistant trash cans were provided at the outhouses. Tables and fire rings at each of the RV sites. The only water was via pitcher pumps. No dump, no electric. Also in the No category was connectivity - nothing on a Verizon phone, an AT&T Mobley, or a Google Fi (T-Mobile) phone.

“Secluded sites, beautiful lake, little connectivity”

What a peaceful place! We loved the quiet seclusion and clean air here at Trail River Campground. We stayed in the upper part of the campground closer to the river than the lake (although there isn't river access within the campground), but it was still close enough to the massive Kenai Lake to enjoy its scenery and amenities (picnic tables, fishing).
Some sites are back-ins, while others are pull-throughs. We had trouble with connectivity, even with a booster, and that forced us to head out before we wanted to. The only other downside is that it's a 30-40 minute drive to Seward and its grocery store, so come prepared. (Also, no hookups, water, or dump station, although there's an easy $5 dump station in the city park in Seward).
