Tonopah Dispersed Camping

Loved our stay in Tenopah, what a great little town, complete with the infamous clown motel. This was an awesome boondocking spot, as mentioned it was super clean with beautiful views. We went during the week and was a perfect one-night stopover. There is some road noise being so close to the main highway, but nothing to complain about and a beautiful location. We worked from here in AM with no problems, great cell coverage. Definitely stay again if we were passing through.

It’s old Route 95 it’s fairly level could park about seven or eight campers depending on the size have to park parallel to old Route 95 we were here for memorial day weekend there were a couple of vans one motorhome and a couple of toy haulers

We were a little underwhelmed. We were expecting it to be more level. There are a couple of fairly level spots but they were occupied. Our opinion could be off because we saw 3 scorpions shortly after our arrival. Beware if you walk your dogs avoid the first small hill between the camping road and the HWY. Nice spot just south of town. Like others have said, turn is just below BLM Office. After the turn, when the road splits into 3, don't go to the rightmost as there is a ditch. We were a little nervous about boondocking at first but we loved it. The view from up here was great! There were several other campers boondocking there too. All very friendly when we went for a walk in the morning.A little road noise from 95, but we slept great.

Use OLD HWY 95 just south of BLM office. Spacious just off US95 but quiet. It would be nice if all campers were respectful of our land and left no trace. Please remember to pick up your trash and dog poop.

This is a gravel road that stretches for about 1/2 mile. There were 2 other RVs in the area the night we were there. It was too windy to comfortably sit outside. Enjoyed how easy it was to find this short stretch of wide and smooth gravel parking patch. Right off the highway and quiet enough. Even heard the laughter of coyotes off in the distance throughout the night. Located just south of the BLM office.

We went further down the road, along the highway, until the dirt road turned up towards the mountain. Cell service was great. Highway noise was minimal, and we were the only ones down there.
