Yurt G. No electrical or water at the driveway, but spigot is close as is "dishwater" disposal. Short walk to toilets.
The clear tarp "window" was torn and the clips to secure the windows to the Yurt didn't line up on two of the three windows.(the Velcro didn't line up either) I tucked the curtains (inside the lattice) on one window to keep them from blowing. I remembered I had some long zip ties and, through a hole in the screen (duct taped) I managed to zip the flapping "window" to an interior piece of lattice.
The heater worked the first night but was off in the morning. I turned it up to high and it ran all day. It stopped running during the second night and I couldn't get it to work this morning. Luckily I brought a 700 watt mini radiator and put it next to my bed. It rained buckets, but I was warm and dry. (bucket toilet - who wants to get soaked at 6 am)
If you've never Yurted - bring a quilted mattress cover (thick vinyl mattresses) and back up heaters. Throw in some "handy" stuff because you never know.
You can cook on the deck, I brought a toaster oven and a mini crock pot. Made a tasty soup/stew and baked frozen enchiladas with greens. Had an electric kettle for tea and coffee. Overall not bad. There is some mold on the interior canvas and as I said the vinyl Yurt need a refurbishment (if possible) and the canvas replacing.
The showers were clean, good hot water, and the ladies had a sink with hot water - a bonus!
The park is small and densely forested, feels very remote. (no cell or wifi) of course the walks and Sunset Bay are stunning. Will return.

We stayed here in our first experience with the Oregon State Park system. Although the online reservation system said the park was completely full, we found it to be at best 2/3 full during our time there in late September.
Site D35 is full hook ups, but heavily shaded, and gets 0 cell coverage as does most the campground once you get halfway through the A loop. Most campers walked up to the check in station which did have wifi and 4 bars of 5g Verizon.
Our only complaint was the tarp city that was set up in the campsite directly across from us with people coming and going at all odd hours of the night. Numerous other campers notified the Park Rangers and staff of the issues, but we were told Oregon has some strange laws limiting their ability to enforce park rules in this circumstance...:(
Previous reviews of the sunsets at the bay, watching the seals and sea lions at the reef, and unsuccessfully trying to spot whales were unfortunately tempered a bit with having to worry about our neighbors nightly activities.

We spent two nights here on our late March trek down Highway 101 in Southern Oregon. Our campsite was close to the entrance, so there was quite a bit of traffic but no obnoxious noise. Sites are paved, but the asphalt is old, uneven and cracked in places. Still, we had no trouble getting level. Sites might be a little narrower than typical for a state park, but still quite pleasant.
There are numerous walking trails, but this early in the spring they were quite muddy. The real attractions are the beaches, which certainly isn’t surprising. Picturesque coves, rugged reefs and miles of sand were at our beck and call. As a bonus, we were able to enjoy a SPECTACULAR sunset. We would certainly come back!

Great campground with all the facilities you usually find at Oregon state parks: clean restrooms and showers, friendly competent staff, nice campsites with adequate space between units, nice hiking trails.
Our only complaint would be they were a little stingy with the hot water. Had to shower in water that was a bit colder than lukewarm. Everything else was perfect!

We loved Sunset Bay State Park and we would definitely come again. Our trailer got the campsite and full hookups were great.
The lookout points in the park were fantastic and we enjoyed hiking.
The sunset was marvellous and our children enjoyed hunting for clams and sea anemones.

Pros: Beautiful setting 12 miles west of Coos Bay.
Sites have enough privacy and elbow room.
Grounds well kept.
Verizon cell service is better than last visit. Was able to stream Netflix.
Staff very friendly.
Cons: One bath house closed for repair. The bath in loop “A” needs to be remodeled/torn down!
The remaining bath house in loop “D” is decent enough, but hot is problematic.
Would we stay here again?
Yeah, with full hook-ups.

First, there is no dump station at this park despite it being listed in the amenities section. Have notified Campendium to correct. Full hookup sites are available. We arrived with full tanks and needed to dump prior to going to our E&W only site. Ranger said they do not have one. The county park up the road a bit will let you dump for $10. It is up a very steep hill and located towards the back of the campground.
Overall, it is a very nice park. A little tight, but there is a large amount of well trimmed vegetation including large rhododendron bushes between sites. Will be beautiful when they bloom. Our site had quite a slant to it so we could not stay hooked up for the night. Most of the sites are short. Would have had trouble putting our 26 footer on most of them.
Fire wood is available for purchase. There is an decent interpretive center. There are yurts to rent! No T-Mobile service.

We were there in April, easy to get a spot, nice places with hedges, but showers where cold. I hope they fix them soon. We had no Verizon service, no Wi-Fi on the site either. Staff was great and very friendly.

I stayed here the first week in December 2021 coming down the Oregon coast photographing seascapes. What a really nice spot close to Shore Acres State Park. Although the surf was not what I had hoped for it’s a beautiful spot and lovely botanical garden. Definitely will come back. The park was clean and friendly.

This is an older state park but pretty well maintained. Close to the ocean but the access path was flooded out. Several hosts at the ready and park rangers cruising around. The campsites are generously sized with good foliage separation. One gripe is that there is no pumpout for the electric sites. Most parks have this as you exit.
