There was no problem finding this campground (CG) as it is right off I-10 adjacent to a Valero gas station. We had paid online, and per the emailed instructions, we went and chose an empty site. After driving through and looking at sites that didn’t have trees that would interfere with our slide-outs, we went into pull-through site 29 with FHUs. As we were only staying overnight, we did not use water and sewer. The CG’s sites are all pull-throughs with FHUs. About 1/4 of the sites are transient workers or full-timers. When we were here towards the end of January, there were plenty of sites to choose from. Our site was plenty long enough for our 40’ 5th wheel and F450. This is a basic CG with no internet, but they have a laundry room on the back of the Saddleback Steakhouse and Bar that has seen better days. There’s also an unmanned office with instructions and a drop box for campers without a reservation. There were plenty of sites that have clear shots to the sky for satellite. We got 3 bars on Verizon. We should have used our sound machine as there’s a lot of road noise from I-10. There’s no formal dog park, but there is plenty of room to walk your dog. Other than the price, one of the reasons we stayed here was the raving reviews by other campers on the Saddleback Steakhouse and Saloon, especially their ribeyes. Boy, were we disappointed. We were expecting a big Texas-style steak. The steak was maybe 1/4 inch thick, and the hand-cut fries were greasy. This may be the only place in the US that still allows smoking inside. They live by their own rules here. On the bright side, this dive-type bar was interesting and somewhat entertaining depending on your views as this establishment is clearly pro-Trump and anti-Biden.

Hard to find at first - but look for the Saddleback steakhouse next to the gas station. It's right behind there. Choose your own space. Utilities work OK. Some long timers there at the far end. Watch for dogs not on leashes. OK for a quick stopover. Right next to highway.

Easy access. Long level sites. Full hookups. No WiFi. Skip the Steakhouse, everyone is smoking indoors and the steaks are not great.

The owner has put a lot of love into building this park. The spaces and surrounding area are landscaped with plants and trees that attract songbirds. There is even a lovely nature walk. I've always looked forward to stopping here on my trips across the U.S., but the goings on at the back part of the park -- furthest away from the highway -- kind of make a bit nervous. There are unleashed dogs that don't seem particularly nice, one of which recently killed a neighbor's kitten, the owner of which promptly pulled a gun on the dog's owner. This is a very large park, so if you stay nearer to the highway, you will be far away from those folks and unaware of the issues. Definitely keep your pets away from there, though. The full-time folks at the front of the park -- near the highway -- keep to themselves and are hardly ever there. There is quite a bit of highway noise in that section, but I sleep just fine and love waking up to all the birds and plants.

Easy to get to. Plenty of pull through lots. Lots mostly level, but used a couple levelers on one side for site 16. The staff person at the Valero let us get a couple cups of ice no charge!
The only reason we ranked it a 4 was because there are no facilities. You get a full hook up and many have decent shade, but that’s all. No picnic tables no laundry and nor shower/restroom facilities.
They are 20 minutes from Balmorhea State Park, and with their camping closed right now, it allowed ups to get a day pass for the natural pool. Highly recommend as a place to cool off from the summer heat, but also it’s touted as the world’s largest spring fed pool!
They also have a free standing ice and water machine of you want to stock up.
Would definitely stop here again if traveling through.

Interesting place, just a typical interstate RV park, gravel lot, but with exceptional landscaping between each space. We had a full hook up pull through spot. Lots of construction being done at the next door gas station so getting to the park was complicated, also there is a office/bar/restaurant combo where its unclear where you exactly check in. We had reservations but didn't have an assigned space, so we just took one that looked good. I had stoped at the "office" and no one answered my knock on the door. So after we got into our space I called the number of the park and was informed that I could have "checked-in" at the bar but since we had selected our space and paid ahead of time we were good to go. No OTA tv, but good cell signal. Fantastic sunset.

We stayed here one night while traveling through west Texas. If coming from the west, the campground entrance is just off the exit ramp: you make a right turn at the first entrance to a gas station with overnight tractor trailer parking, then make the immediate first right. To drive to the office building, take the first left at the restaurant and drive over the large gravel stone surface to the small building with the red roof and porch. If you haven’t already pre-paid for your stay, there are payment envelopes and a drop box under a whiteboard that (at least when we visited) had a phone number to call for questions.
Apparently they don’t assign sites, so you can choose your own. All of the sites are pull-throughs of varying lengths, with gravel surfaces and full hookups. The sites closer to the interstate seem to be longer and have desert landscaping between sites; the sites further from the road seemed smaller with little or no landscaping, though most had at least one adjacent tree. We picked site 7, the end site on the first row, which was easily long enough for our 37-foot fifth wheel and 21-foot truck. In retrospect, it wasn’t a great choice because of all the road noise from I-10, which was clearly audible from inside our rig even when closed up. But it did give us a view of the 24/7 automated ice vending machine which sits at the front of the campground out our kitchen window, which was unique. Our site was mostly level, though we did put a board under the camper wheels to help. The hookups are more towards the back of the site, which could require the use of extension cords or hoses depending on your rig.
Unless your dog is a fan of walking and gravel, this is not a great campground for dogs. There is some shrubbery near the restaurant, but you have to walk over to the front of the gas station to get off the gravel and onto some grass.
In terms of cell service, the best speed I got on my Verizon Jetpack with MIMO antenna was 70Mbps down and 22 up, and I had no issues with streaming video. The one speed test I rand on my 5G AT&T smartphone showed 153Mbps down and 6 up. There is no campground WiFi: the only amenities are the aforementioned ice vending building and a few dumpsters for trash.
Full-hookups for $20 is hard to beat, but with both the road noise from the interstate and the engine/generator noise from the tractor trailers parked overnight just outside the campground, it wasn’t a good place to get a good night’s sleep.
