Site was well lit, clean and felt safe. Site offered hookups although we did not use them. The nights rest was quiet and very enjoyable. Site was just off the expressway so stopping here added little to no additional time to our travels. I would recommend this spot and I would gladly stay here again.

We pulled to the end of the RV/bus parking to distance ourselves from the trucks some. Was able to put out the slides. Very nice rest area and surprisingly not too much highway noise.

Stopped here headed west at 2:00 AM. No noise, clean, no traffic. Trucks and RV side and car side. Slept 3 hours and hit the road again. Well lit and felt safe.

I overnighted here on my way back to Phoenix from Austin. I planned to stop further up the road, but figured I'd pull off and check this one out on the way. Sooooo glad I did. Most of the rest stops in Texas on the I-10 are narrow, two-lane stops with a bunch of noisy trucks. This one has a HUGE parking lot with lanes for trucks, and plenty of room for rvs/campers to park along the curb.
In the morning I checked out the information center - museum quality - which had all kinds of displays about the history of the area, and found the restrooms inside to be immaculate. There is a good-sized, well-kept playground outside for the kids, and a walking trail through it. Incredible. Only caveat, at least on the day/night I was there was the bugs. I made the mistake of opening the patio on my toy hauler to check the SxS, and let a bunch of little flies in. Oh well (tip: they vacuum well).
I'll stay here on my way to Austin again if I can talk myself out of driving around one of the worst freeways I've ever been on, the I-10 in El Paso.

This is one of the nicest rest areas I've ever seen. The parking area for rv's is behind the building so the highway noise is minimal. There is free wifi at this location. Yeah! We stayed at Walmart in Fort Stockton last night, but this is nicer and quieter. Saw some interesting birds this morning.

The area for trucks and RV's is very spacious with a few dedicated parking spots for RV/Buss where there is room to put out slides. We were the only RV the night we stayed. The entire grounds are very well kept and clean. Wifi is available. Obviously there is truck noise but not the constant in and out like many rest areas.

Bathrooms were nicer than some hotels we have stayed in. 180° sky. Lot of poles though. Trucks would come in and out. Not a biggie. Little nature area walk through. According to Richard "feel free to open your slide, put your stabilizers down, make your self's at home. No dumping though"

We are a family of 6 and have been full timing for about 7-8months. Now venturing into boondocking. This was our first spot we tried and it was perfect! We got there around 5p so there was still space along the sidewalk so we could put our 4 slide a out. We have a 41 foot fifth wheel and there’s is PLENTY of space. Bathrooms super clean.

This place is spectacular. There is dedicated RV parking on the truck side parallel to the sidewalk so you can put your sides out and not have them taken off by a semi. There is 24 hour video surveillance and the rest area is spacious and has a storm shelter, if needed. Staff is there during the day. Absolutely amazing...and FREE!
