“Only one of my favorite boondocking spots ever.”

Did you read the title? This place is pretty heavenly as far as looks, amenities in town, and the condition of the road. Here you can stream all the videos you want on Verizon or ATT. It's a long road in- I believe it goes about 6 or more miles, with the most user-friendly spots earlier in the ride- before the lake that you come to on ... more

There is plentiful boondocking in this area, but I think Lake Creek might have some of the best. With views, trails, good cell service, and a short drive to town it hits all the marks. One thing to note is that the first half of the road is marked as having a 3-day limit while the second half has a 10-day limit. Rangers do patrol this ... more

“Big views in the valley with a creek ”

Reviewed Oct 04, 2017

Spot was pretty close to town off a dirt road off a road leading to a neighborhood. The actual camp sites that are in the valley close to the creek are a ways in however. While there was one pull off right by the entrance, you probably wouldn't want to camp there because you are basically next to someone's backyard. A pretty valley wit... more

Our spot was about 3.5-4 miles from the entrance on the right as you enter, we were next to the running creek with mountains on both sides of us. There is a pond 1 mile from our spot where the girls (our 2 doggies) and I walk almost every day; with ducks and small ground chippers. “Peaceful, Beautiful & Close to Town”

While the gravel road into the sites is a bit rough, take it slow and you should be fine. We went in about 3 miles and stayed in a 16-day limit site. The grass was flattened, the site was spacious and level, and we had fast internet (Verizon was great and I think AT&T was pretty solid too). It's basically one lane of travel but there... more

This was a great stop for experiencing the Sun Valley and Ketchum area. We moved on looking for something closer, but in hindsight should have stayed here as it wasn't all that far to town.

This was a great spot to stop and stay for 2 nights. Note: Sign posting length of stay now limits any campers to 3 nights. It was very peaceful with a little traffic down the dirt road adjacent due to it being summer and a nice weekend. We just pulled further off the road and put the back of our rig to the road so weren't disturbe... more

“Great Boondocking 10 minutes from Ketchum/Sun Valley”

This is a great boondocking spot with super easy access to Ketchum and also the Sun Valley resort. Essentially a grassy field, this location can comfortably accommodate 2-3 larger size rigs. Big rigs, this is may be your spot. If you want to push it, at 3.25 on the odometer the road splits (stay left) and you can camp above the small l... more
