9 sites total, no camp hosts, 7 sites are $10 and 2 double sites are $20. 3 day limit. Closed for the season after Sept 30. Pit toilet. Great cell service on the big 3 providers.
So wonderful to have a bike path to Sun Valley right outside.

Soon no need to ride on the road for 1/4 mile from the campground entrance to the current end of the bike trail. This trail connects to the 20 mile long Wood River bike Trail. Note that is downhill all the way to Ketchum meaning you will have a long steady uphill climb on the way back...
2. There is no campground host this year so all nine sites are available. Primo site is site #7 that backs close to the adjacent stream.
3. This campground is extremely popular. Also, while we were there some of the local folks were also staying here. We came in at 2pm on Monday June 22nd and the only site available was #1. The next two mornings the two empty sites filled by 8 am each day. A good alternative is North Fork campground about 8 miles north of Ketchum on Rt 75.
4. Upstream from the campground picnic area is an excellent mountain bike trail.
5. Expect construction noise during the day as the bike trail extension is being constructed.
6. Almost no noise at night.

Small campground with only 9 spots. It was full every day by noon in mid June (during the COVID pandemic). But for good reason! It’s only 1/4 mile from the start of the bike path that leads into Ketchum and hooks into the big wood river trail with 40+ miles of paved bike paths. There’s easy access to fishing, hiking, and mountain biking too. If you go north on trail creek rd. towards Mackay there’s miles and miles of OHV trails.
If you can’t get into boundary Campground, there’s lots of dispersed camping along the road just north of the campground. Then come back the next morning to check for openings. You could also park for free at the Hailey dump station (12 hour max) as a back up.
There’s a water spigot, vault toilets, fire pits, and picnic tables. The RV pads are level and easy to get in and out. Each spot also has a tent pad. We let tent campers use our tent pad two of the nights we were there, just to be nice because there’s so much demand. Another camper told us he comes to this campground every June and he said it’s not usually this busy. I think Idaho is attracting a lot of campers right now because the surrounding states aren’t as open due to COVID.

Even with no utilities, $10 a night is a really good deal for this small, scenic campground. The sites are large with new looking picnic tables and fire rings. With only 9 sites, even when full it's fairly quiet and there are several trails that run right past the campground.

We were originally going to skip Idaho, but then some good friends of ours talked us into meeting them in Ketchum. We saw Marshall's review and they said this was the place so we got there with no expectations. It's $10 with no hook ups, but decent size spots with a fire pit, bbq stand and some have a nice flat space for a tent. The hosts are extremely sweet (and talkative) as well. 9 sites, first come first serve. MAX STAY WAS 7 DAYS when we were here.
So we got settled in after a long, very long day of driving and were happy how quiet it was. The next day we got on our bikes and within 50 meters we were on the bike path to town. The town was cute! Coffee shops, boutiques, sport shops, ethnic restaurants and a couple breweries. I enjoyed walking through town and biking. It's a good size and for being a resort town, it doesn't feel that way. The ski lodges are off to the side, so it isn't the main focus in town.
The mountain biking and hiking were awesome! Flat hikes, elevation hikes, long hikes, short hikes, trail running. It had everything. Right out of the day area to our camp ground there was a couple paths and they were fun. I ended up bailing on one, but I still had a great time. The majority are dog friendly as well and off leash friendly! That is always a plus.
Back to the campground. The hosts were very adamant about following the rules. They closed the gate promptly at 10 pm, made sure everyone was quiet and depending on the weather would let you know if you could or couldn't have a fire. There is also river access at the campground and our friends caught a couple trout. The hosts didn't let random people go through the campground and if anyone tried to walk through she sure as heck let them know that she didn't like it.
I can't say enough good things about this place. Quiet, close to town, close to hiking, close to biking. We were more active than anywhere else, including the 45 days we were in Colorado. If you are interested in trap shooting, do not go to the place that is near, it is crazy expensive, but do go there after hours to get free potable water for your rig. Oh, one more hint, there are not any places in town that we could find to fill up our drinking jug. We would have boondocked, but some of the places were only 3 days and others were 16, but not the greatest spots. If you went further on 75 there seemed to be great boondocking, but we didn't want to be far away. I loved how close to town we were and how far away you felt at night.
We didn't take the gondola up because we seem to be tainted by Mammoth Lakes and Breckenridge where they are free, but there is a lot of things for families to do here.
We will come back here every time we are in Ketchum!

You can ride your bike down a paved path right into downtown Ketchum, a darling resort town with shops, restaurants, and 2 breweries (try the Double Rye IPA at Sawtooth Brewery). Its very pedestrian and bike friendly. There are mountain bike trails galore from multiple points in town.
You can fish Trail Creek right from the grounds and catch big yellowstone cutthroat trout. No kidding. You can also cool off in the crystal clear waters of the creek if really cold water is your thing.
You can mountain bike up Corral Creek trail (again from the grounds) or hike numerous trails from the same trailhead. You can wear your camera out taking pics of the beautiful picturesque surroundings. Sigh.

Want to stay in Sun Valley? Here is your place!
Very small (9 site) Forest Service campground on Trail Creek with super easy access to Sun Valley and Ketchum.
There is a hiking and mountain biking trailhead (with parking) on the northeast of the campground (same facility).
The campground is about 1.5 miles outside of Sun Valley and just 3.5 miles from downtown (as it is) Ketchum. In other words, a great location.
What makes it better is that there is a 30+ mile rails to trails multi-use paved trail in the valley and it starts just .5 miles away from the campground. Hop on your bike and cruise around. Go out to dinner. Go for a long ride. Check out the towns. Leave the car/truck/noisy transportation at the campground.
The campground does backup to the road, so there is some traffic noise. It isn’t a main road as it becomes a Forest Service road just beyond the campground. Weekends there is some traffic, but it is far from constant. There is a gun club about a mile down the road and you will hear distant pop-pop-pop from shotguns shooting skeet.
Bring your own water as there is a single pump style water station, but it doesn't look very user friendly for filling jugs.
Great Verizon and AT&T (unboosted) service available. Great mountain views. A gem of a campground if you are staying in the area.
