Overall Rating
Stayed at Homme Dam Campground on August2, 2020. The campground was very nice, as were the caretakers; however, right after we arrived, the grounds were being mowed on a commercial mower, which threw a rock into our pickup window, shattering it. Today I received a phone call from the campsite’s manager saying the county would cover the cost of the shattered window. Thank you! We would definitely stay here again!

Overall Rating
We stayed here overnight in late July. The area is really nice but the Dam had an algae bloom and wasn't to inviting for kayaking or swimming. We stopped here because "The Wright Guide to: Free and Low-Cost Campgrounds" (Our traveling Bible) showed it right on our path and it listed the price as $20. When we parked, the manager told us the "updated" price of $25 PLUS a $5 a day extra vehicle fee (our car). We had planned on a two night stay but wasn't really worth $60 for no real amenities.
There were some nice views of the reservoir and we did spot a Bald Eagle so the stop wasn't a total washout.
The pads were fairly level and all were gravel that are intended for RV's and tents. The grounds were very well keep up and there was a nice playground at the front of the campground.
We would stay here again but only for one night on our way through.
I solicited Campendium.com to add this to the website but I miscounted, there are 30 sites not 27.
Not much in Park River to speak of but we did find the Dairy Queen.
