The main bathhouse is fantastic with three showers in the men’s room and an equal amount in the women’s. There’s also 2 family restrooms with showers. No coins needed! Unlimited showers.
The fee is a mete $17 for primitive.

All sites in the north and south loops share water spigots between two sites and some require 50-75' hoses. The electrical boxes are located on the opposite side of most campgrounds. A pattern we've been seeing in ND so far is to enter the campground loop from the left if you have an inside site and enter from the right if you have an outside site. This was the case here as well as Turtle River State Park. We'll see if it holds with the two other parks we are visiting.
Site 109 - located in the north loop and is pretty level. Has partial shade throughout the day with some sun. Neighbors are spaced out nicely.
We did have to pay $2.50 to switch to 109 from 123 which was unlevel and full sun.
Site 107 - good shade in afternoon. Fairly level with a good amount of outdoor space.
Site 116 - fairly level with a very private large outdoor space. Does have one tree that gives good shade in the afternoon/evening but mostly sunny and open.
Water seemed fine and tasted fine. We do filter but water seemed fine before going into our filters. We have Visible/Verizon and our service was good only when park was empty. Weekends were almost unusable until people went to bed around midnight.

Good to help keep us a bit cooler on the 100 degree days we had, but the amount of leaves/pollen/seeds/sap it left on our truck and trailer was bad. There is a dog park but it has zero shade so go early on those hot days. A number of hiking trails to enjoy. The facilities seemed nice but we didn't use them. There was a fire ban during our stay but we wouldn't have been able to use our pit as it was sunken in the ground on one side. The beach area is nice and there is a nice concession stand. Overall, a good value for your money.

Nice state park off the beaten path. We stayed in the north loop. The electric and water were not conveniently placed, but we made it work and still faced inward to a nice big site. The campground was empty when we got there, but filled quickly with locals for Friday thru Sunday and was empty again by Sunday night. The showers were cleaned often. The hiking around the park was great! The trails were maintained and nice. Also did a scenic “back way” over by the Pembina Gorge that we loved.

This is probably my favorite ND state park. Lots to do if that’s what you want. Or sit around and do nothing. Short bike ride to the town of Cavalier. If you like a great cup of coffee, make sure to stop at Blue Fox Coffeehouse.
