The campground was clean however the grass seemed very overgrown in many of the sites. Our site did not have much grass present, however the perimeter of our site had a lot of poison ivy.
Our site was electric only and the campground water spigot was right next to our campsite making it easily accessible when we needed it. Our site was pretty level and spacious. Privacy was good as well.
As we were driving through the campground many of the sites seemed very unleveled. Fortunately, ours was leveled.

We had to flee a flea-bag site at Niagara Falls and snagged a single Saturday night here a day in advance, Turns out, either I didn't read, or it wasn't made clear, that that site in Loop D doesn't allow dogs. So after driving all the way there and finding this info prominently displayed at check-in, we were panicked. A goddess of a ranger got us reassigned to the B loop. Although we had one of the more undesirable spots near the road and playground, it was lovely and convenient to the showers, which weren't bad for state park facilities. Lots of boisterous families and campfires, but a welcome retreat for one night on the road.

Waters spouts every few sites for fresh water. Playgrounds and a basketball court on the Main road between the camping loops. And a quick jot across the park puts you at the beach on Lake Ontario.

I had to work while I was here and I was able to get good phone coverage on Verizon to hotspot to my computer.
The grounds were quiet with families during the week but filled up on Friday night with weekend campers who were there for more of a party. But, the grounds were mostly quiet by 1030pm.
No direct access to the beach.

Sites are 30/20 amp only, but the bathhouses were kept clean and there was fresh water nearby. Dump station is farther back in the campground so most campers will have to backtrack in order to dump on the way out of the park.Verizon signal was strong and consistent for working and streaming; AT&T was very poor -- even when boosted. Few OTA channels.
There are only a few small towns with small stores nearby so make sure you are stocked before visiting. Also, be careful if approaching on the Lake Ontario State Pkwy from Rochester due to several 11' clearances though it isn't too difficult to route around on side streets.

Bathrooms however were very clean and new. The rest of the park seemed very shabby. Weeds everywhere grown up a few feet in many places. The dump station looked abandoned the weeds were so high. A lot of tree limbs down in picnic area on the lake. It’s got the potential to be a gorgeous park, it just needs some attention to detail.

Water is a pain to fill fresh water tank in loop B because you will block the road. We drove down to loop C and found access without blocking the road.

This is very much a weekend hotspot for Rochester / Buffalo area folks to camp with their families. While Tuesdays and Wednesdays are fairly quiet, Thursday - Monday is aburst with chatter, laughter, the occasional crying child, and campfire smoke drifting from nearly every fire pit in the campground.
On weekends, kids own the roads, roaming in packs on the bicycles and scooters. The bathrooms are muddied and the showers are in constant use. Slightly inebriated parents sit in their folding chairs hoping that someone else is keeping an eye on their kids for a moment.
This is a beautiful park - well wooded with nice seclusion between sites. The lake is a 1/4mile walk from the camping area and has a swimming area, a few playgrounds and paved trails running along it.
The sites here range from well-leveled to janky as hell. If the site listing says 'moderate grade' it means 'good luck getting level in anything more than a pop-up, fool'. The jankiness of many of the sites in terms of levelness is the reason for 4 stars rather than 5.
This is an electric only campground. Some sites have 50A - most have 30A. There is a 3 lane dump station that gets pretty backed up on Sunday mornings, and doesn't offer a water fill. There are threaded spigots dotting the camping loops where you can fill if necessary.
Also, don't bother trying to extend or reserve a site through the park office - they are always 'booked full' as they don't get updates on when a site is released due to cancellation. Just go to Reserve America.
We stayed in two different sites in loop D and the Verizon service was enough to work and do some streaming - 52down (woah!) and 1.6 up (eh) - without use of our booster. AT&T was 3.4 down and 1.25 up - without the use of our booster.
There is a very nice campground store selling everything from boiled peanuts and ice cream to insect spray and firewood. There is a nice laundry facility attached to the store ($2/wash, $2/dry). On Saturdays the park opens a rec hall with games and crafts.
If you're a large/tall rig, make sure to avoid the Lake Ontario State Pkwy coming in / out - there are several 11' bridges between the park and Rochester.
