We stayed here from Sept 10-Sept 15. The fee box was wrapped up so we did not have to pay. Dog Lake is a perfect campground if you are UNDER 30ft and don't mind constant traffic noise. Our Airstream is 30ft long and we got it into site #3 since its more of a pull through. We saw other 30 footers back into some spots and they fit snuggly. Getting out of the campground was a little tough since the loop is pretty tight, but we got out with some holding back of branches. Our tow vehicle and trailer combined is 50ft. As for the location, it is great because it is right off of Highway 12 so its close to Mt. Rainier and the town of Packwood. But because it is right off of the highway, it is really noisy. Especially since its on a mountain pass and the semis can get pretty loud. We didn't mind it and slept fine but if you are looking for absolute quiet, this won't be the campground for you. The lake is walking distance from every site and there is a trail in the campground that connects to the Pacific Crest Trail. Each site has enough sunlight for some solar throughout the day. Cell service was better and useable with AT&T. We were able to stream with it. Verizon was not useable.

Close to the road so you can hear the traffic. Easy entrance. Fairly level sites. Only 8-10 campsites in the upper lot, and a couple would work better for tents or truck with a canopy camper. Close to the road so you can hear the traffic. Easy entrance. Fairly level sites. Only 8-10 campsites in the upper lot, and a couple would work better for tents or truck with a canopy camper. Very wooded. There are vault toilets, but they were closed when we were here. The lower site lot by the lake is only for day use. The fee box was covered and wrapped in plastic so fees were not being collected on our visit. Easy access to lake with boat ramp. No trash dumpster so make sure you take everything with you!
