This was a beautifully kept campground (shout out to the host) right on the lake! 4-stars because of the road noise (which is present from any site) and because we got a weirdly conjoined campsite with another group so it wasn't as private. There are great spots tho! Also when I still road noise, it's not a few pickups each hour - it's a highway with trucks flying down the mountain.

I enjoyed my stay at this small campground. It is well run with a friendly camp host. I was there to hike and he gave me directions to get across the river to the "recreation" area with many trails. I came across a beautiful boondocking area, which gets crowded on weekends according to the camp host at Indian Creek. I think that can be accessed through the Clear Lake area. It was a nice walk along a forest service road. I saw deer and a couple of elk.
I registered for site #2, which was located close to the highway. After walking the campground, I noticed many of the reservations were after my stay. I moved to site #32, which I think is one of the best. It is level and backs up to the lake. You can carry your kayak just 25 feet to the water.
I was there during the week just before Fathers Day weekend and the campground was less than a quarter filled. There were no neighbors on either side, though most sites are spacious. The intermittent rainy weather may have to do with it. The lake temp was under 50 degrees and the ambient temp was mid-sixties during the day.
No cell service at all.
I got the senior rate. Normally the rate is $22.00 per night.
Every day some kind of jet comes by and I thought the world was coming to an end! Never in my life have I experienced anything of the kind. I looked forward to it! On the first day, it came over the lake around 3 pm and on the second day twice: noon and 7 pm. Worth the price of admission.

Multiple trails to the beach. Many sites have a filtered lake view. While the campground is adjacent to the highway, it was surprisingly quiet at night. Beautiful stargazing opportunities from the beach.
No cell coverage here. Pretty spotty, if relying on solar, due to fairly dense, tall trees.

When we started out penciling the concept for our trip to the Northwest this year, we figured to head over Chinook pass because I'd never gone that direction. When we got to where Highway 12 and 410 split, the sign told us that Chinook wouldn't open until Friday, so... we stopped at Indian Creek because it was an easy entrance from the highway. Turns out to be a great choice in many respects.
Indian Creek is managed by Hoodoo and has a host on site. There are about 39 sites, five of which were filled (including the host) on a June Wednesday, apparently a week before local schools let out. Our price includes the benefits of the geezer pass. Site 27 was selected because it had lake access and the site was arranged such that we could back in and get level enough without needing to unhook or use leveling blocks - a great benefit for an overnight.
Restrooms are classic style outhouses which we didn't use. The loop road and the site driveways are asphalt. Each site has a very nice, and relatively new and very stout picnic table and a steel fire ring, but none of the sites had prepared tent pads. Road noise at the sites closest to the lake was not evident, perhaps drowned out by the rustle of the trees.
All sites are very shaded and there's essentially no connectivity which would limit the length of time we were willing to stay and impacts my scoring. We couldn't get a single bar to show on Verizion, AT&T, or Google Fi, but did have enough connectivity on my Google Fi phone that an occasional email would come through but I wasn't sure if it was riding on TMobile or Sprint at the time.

It was boondocking at its best - we were one of five campsites filled, rarely any noise besides the honk of the geese and the wind in the trees. Huge campsites, lake shore to walk along (reservoir so the water level gets lowered as it gets later in the summer season). Two loops for kids to ride their bikes/scooters. Camp ground host is great. There is a resort right next door if you've forgotten anything! An hour drive from Yakima, 44 min to Mt Rainier and just 8 miles from White Pass.
