We were glad to have this stop after many hours of driving through fields, but the road noise is as loud as I’ve heard next to interstates and the semi trucks with their engine noise while they slept was also constant. We did save money, but it was some of the worst sleep we’ve had, so who really won there?!

I parked here in the afternoon with the intent to do some work, nap, and push on to Colorado. Constant semi noise up to one parking behind me with their engine on killed that plan.
There's a state fishing park 8 minutes away. If you need quiet, go there.

Not a bad spot right off the highway for a free night of sleep. Even has a gas station right across the road. There's picnic tables and grills bit the noise from the trains and trucks are the main downfall.

It's a paved lot next to a grassy area, basically a highway rest stop. There was a lone semi when I got there; plenty of room for me to park and easily get out in the morn. I could still hear some traffic at night, but not as bad as near a larger highway. Got quieter as it got later. Trash cans were handy for tossing small garbage. Not scenic or peaceful as some other spots, but way better than a Walmart parking lot.

We were heading to Mt Rushmore from our week in Oklahoma. Got a late start and my wife found this nugget so decided to check it out. Traffic on Highway 50 but was not bad.

As the previous reviewer wrote, no frills but easy in and out. We were here on a weeknight and one truck pulled in behind us pretty late. There is some noise from the traffic going by, but it didn’t bother us. Garbage cans, picnic tables, and the gas station across the street had inexpensive diesel. Happy travels.
