The bathrooms were clean. There is 1 Spicket of water available for the entire campground. There are a few others available, but they say not for public use. YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO FILL YOUR RV TANK WITH WATER. Of course, some yahoo who didn’t think the rules applied to them did just that. The well is up the road you come in on and it’s a nice place to take your dog for a walk. The road in is dirt and there are a few potholes.
There is a dump station with non-potable water for $10.
This is a great location to access a number of hikes and to visit Mammoth, which has grocery stores and a great visitor center
We were only going to stay four days but ended up staying 7. We were going to go camp above Mammoth, but there are controlled burns in that area. We can frequently see the big plumes of smoke and in the morning we sometimes see a layer across Crowley lake

The vault toilets are the cleanest I’ve ever seen. They must have just emptied them maybe. Nice view of Crowley Lake and the Sierras. Our only complaint was that the sites are not level so we had to pull out our leveling blocks, but that’s why we have them. And the price is definitely right at $5 with senior discount, otherwise $10/night. Cash or check only. Would definitely stay here again.

Stopped here just to dump our tanks. Dump station is right as you come in but still about a half mile from the main road. The road in is gravel and a little bumpy. Campground looked nice. Sites had tables, fire rings, bear boxes and poles to hang lanterns. No shade.

I stayed here twice, once the weekend before Memorial Day in my car, and again over the whole Memorial Day weekend with my 5th wheel.. I was looking for a spot with good cellular data, close to Mammoth Mountain, room for my 5th wheel with painless access, and no trees so I could let my solar system stretch its legs. Most of the free and paid campsites had yet to open for the year and dispersed camping was slim pickings between mud and snow. This spot ticked all my boxes.
This spot does have a dump station and water, however both were closed during my stay, expected to be open in Early June. I ended up using Mammoth Water District on my way home.
This campground got pretty busy over the Memorial Day weekend, had I not shown up mid week, I would not have been able to find a pull-through or a large back in site as they were all taken, however there were still small spaces available big enough for vans, trucks with campers, or just tent camping. The weekend before I'd estimate the site was 20% full with plenty of room for any type of camping rig.
Access from the road was pretty good, a small section of the road is rocky, but the road is wide and brush free so no worries about scratching up your rig getting in and out.
Sites are not perfectly level, but are level enough if you're in a rig with some blocks/ramps you shouldn't have any problems getting your rig level.
You can hear the highway in the distance, but there's not a ton of traffic, it's not bad, and I couldn't hear it inside, only faintly while outside.
Occasionally, I picked up a whiff of the Crawly Lake Sewage Treatment facility which is nearby, but it's mild and only occurs when the wind is blowing just right. And I never smelled it from inside my rig.
There's no shade, so it's perfect for people with solar.
The scenery is second to none, absolutely beautiful views. I went for a hike with my snowboard up Nevahbe Point, the big ole mountain right behind the campsite, and snowboarded back down. Was a glorious adventure and just adds to the value of this location. Later in the summer once the snow is gone, the hiking trails will become accessible.

This location is great for fishermen and paddle boarding and kayaking on Lake Crowley. Day pass into Crowley was $10. Great geology to see by visiting the Crowley columns. You can also 4 wheel it there.
Only negative is the dirt road into the campground and even that isn’t bad. If you don’t turn into the campground you can continue a walk approximately 2 miles up the road to a trailhead. A nice place to take your dog or just get some air.
This location is ideal for driving up Rock Creek to many trailheads ranging from short 1 mile to 8 mile hikes via numerous spectacular lakes. We also traveled to Mammoth and did some hikes and bike rides. Mammoth has all kinds of restaurants and grocery stores.
We did travel as far as Mono Lake to take advantage of a low wind day and kayaked off Navy beach to view the South Lake Tufa. We had tried when camping in Lee Vining but the weather and wind didn’t cooperate.
No shade at this CG but since nighttime temperatures were in the high teens and low 20’s who cares. We also generated lots of amps via our solar. The sites are huge and are nicely spaced apart.
AT&T was variable with voice and text.

We paid $4/night with our Golden Acess Pass as it is a BLM CG. No shade, bathrooms are clean. Large open areas and multiple pull throughs available with tables and fire pits.
You can see the highway 375 but it is far enough away that noise is minimal.
Open night sky is fabulous.
