Easy to find, easy to park, hookups available if needed. If you're adventurous or in the appropriate vehicle you can leave parking lot and boondock. Each site including those off the parking lot had covered picnic tables, fire pit, and trashcan.
Showers on site that take tokens, bear in mind that the office is only open Friday to Sunday.
Relatively clean found a few rusty nails and some broken glass but otherwise fine. During the weekdays we were the only ones there. The weekend brought more activity mostly consisting for OHV day use. Nights were very quiet.
Dump station and water down the road.

Bathrooms, garbage, covered picnic tables and fire rings. Free if you don’t hook up. Various prices depending on if you use power, water or it’s a holiday. While it’s right on the road almost no one goes by. A few fighter jets from the nearby base but only during parts of the day.

Free dry camping or paid electric hookup. Easy
access, paved road until park entrance. Maintained
established campground. Quite far from the
highway but WORTH IT to get a good night's sleep.

Group of us has been coming out to CA city for 10+ years now
We boondock 5+ days
So many trails and points to visit and ride to
Very open, mostly flat
Not a very hard packed desert
Perfect riding spot

There is also a big trash dumpster, pull through fresh water fill, flush toilets, and token operated showers. Tokens and camping are paid in the office which has limited hours Fri/Sat/Sun but the sites and showers are open all week.
There is tons on OHV activity in the area!
If you need a dump station, it is few miles further south on the west side of the road.
