“Great... BUT nails and glass everywhere!”

Reviewed Mar 04, 2019

Overall Rating

Lots of wide open space for boondocking and off road riding. It was very quiet during our stay, even on the weekends. We stayed in late February. Unfortunately, I cannot give this location more than 3 stars because our site (and several others we looked at) had nails and glass all over the ground. And I don’t mean one or two... we pick... more

“Dispersed Camping”

Reviewed Jan 03, 2019

Overall Rating

OHV area, very quiet during the week, water $5, dump $5, Free trash, showers (tokens) Bathrooms- flush toilets free.

Nice desert area- lots to drive to even without a OHV. You can stay closer to town for better cell coverage. Wifi booster worked great- we camped further out in the desert

“100 billion reasons to camp”

Reviewed Feb 11, 2017

Overall Rating

This is boondock camping. It's pretty far off the beaten path, yet about a 10 minute drive to California City where there are some basic conveniences (grocery store, auto parts, gas station, etc.) No hookups, it is free, and you just park wherever you like. It's used as an off-road area so there are always motorcycles, quads, UTV, et... more

“DONT CAMP HERE”

Reviewed Nov 09, 2018

Overall Rating

Camp is pretty big, huge amount of dirt bikers passing through daily. The noise woke my family and I early in the morning. Lots of dust! Small rattle snake den on campsite. If you are going to camp in California city, camp more near the mountain ranges.
