Overall Rating
Was staying at the BLM 717 sites nearby and wanted to check this out. I did not camp here. Would not recommend since the 717 sites are so nice. Have to go through 2 cattle gates. Road is rutted and not suitable for rv's. Camping spots are about 2 to 2/12 miles in. Best for tenters with cars. Cell coverage very good.

Lucked out with road 572. It had everything we needed- large, level and elevated site, pine groves for shade, views of the plateaus, privacy, room for kids to explore, and cell service. We were a bit nervous camping off grid in Utah for the first time as it had just down poured, leaving the roads tacky and us wondering if more rain and... more
Lucked out with road 572. It had everything we needed- large, level and elevated site, pine groves for shade, views of the plateaus, privacy, room for kids to explore, and cell service. We were a bit nervous camping off grid in Utah for the first time as it had just down poured, leaving the roads tacky and us wondering if more rain and landslides were coming. So we chose this spot because it was on top of a small hill. Only a mile further down the road there were more site options for unobstructed views of the plateaus and cliffs (but fewer trees). Only had one car drive by in the 48+ hours we were there. Best part- we had GREAT cell service for working remotely. No issues with video calls. The night sky and sunset was amazing. If you’re from the east coast like us, don’t forget you’re in the desert so you may see tarantulas. Also if you’re unfamiliar with Utah BLM- you may have to pass through a closed gate. But this is only for wildlife protection.
