We stayed at Paria 1 night and bikes down to the historical site. Our site was the 4th one one on the main dirt road. Had no problems with getting to it in our sprinter. No one else around. A bit buggy so bring bug spray!

Last year I was able to get very close to the river. However this year the rains have eroded the wash at the bottom of the big hill at the "Y" - go right to the day use area, and go left to keep going to the old cemetery. However the wash has significantly eroded and it will take a higher clearance vehicle to cross both. Do not go down the steep hill with a long/big trailer. You will find it very difficult to turn around.
Before the hill, there are a few decent spots to camp. This place is still one of my top favorite places with the scenic views!

The road was in good shape. Easy access for my low clearance 2wd sprinter. I wouldn’t come here after any precipitation though. I only saw 3 spots but I only went a few miles down the road. I stayed at the 2nd one on the left. I was the only person here. It was perfect.

If you don’t have good ground clearance you should probably start looking for a site. There were a few. We made our way to about 5 miles in and found a beautiful site. It was cold and windy but very peaceful. We left the next morning when the ground was a little frozen which made it a little easier. We loved it and if the ground was drier we could have probably made it to the end.

Previous reviews are correct - very washboard-y road. If you go the full 6 miles in you'll eventually get to a turn-around which is where I stayed. Absolutely stunning views everywhere you look. If you're in a RV or pulling a larger trailer be slow going down the hill(s). Easy does it and then stay to the left for the easiest crossing over the wash...

Road is washboardy, especially at the start. There’s a large pull out quite a ways down the road with BEAUTIFUL views. I only saw two sites, first was taken, couldn’t camp due to needing service for work.

Washboard roads led us to the sites. Our 22 foot class B did fine little rough but I’ve seen worse. We chose the second on the left which was fairly flat and a rock wall to block any wind.

First spot on the left only suitable for a camper van or truck. Some traffic going to Pariah, but nothing bad this time of year, mostly quiet. Nothing fancy. Road deteriorated quickly after the second spot - grade, ruts, mud. When we poked around looking for the old town site we were glad we hadn't stayed much longer as the sun had melted enough spots we weren't sure we'd make it back to our camper.

“No sites, closed off areas”
noted 3/31/2023
3/31/23 - It seems as though there are no actual camping spots in this area. We drove 3 miles before hitting the closed off area marked by cones. We went through the day use area, and attempted taking the left before that. We didn’t see any spots, just a couple of pull offs that are more so turn arounds or else we’re marked no vehicles. There were other cars driving up the road who all seemed to have a similar experience. Unsure why there were closures, and maybe all the campsites are past the 3 mile mark?
