One of the only downsides is this is basically a large open field, so there is no privacy. There is great river access. One other complaint we had was there are some locals that let their dogs run loose in this area. Nothing against dogs at all, but the owners were not even on the property and the dogs wouldn't leave us alone (albeit friendly). But none of that would deter us from staying here again. It's a great location with beautiful views.

This is a great boondocking location! There is a large field with a gravel road running around it. And there is a river that runs around 2 sides! It’s a little crowded on the weekend, but not too noisy. Most weekend traffic is there to use the boat ramp. You can almost guarantee a moose sighting as you walk along the trail next to the river each evening. We saw 4 in one night! And though the smoke was bad while we were there, you can still see the Tetons rising above the other mountains in the background.
The road going in is in good shape up until the last turn. That last stretch is just washboarded, but nothing major or preventing any sized rig from going down it. There are also vault toilets available, though we didn’t inspect for cleanliness. Everything looked well maintained though.
Internet was good enough to work and stream without issue. Average 12 down and 4 up on both ATT and Verizon.
Driggs, ID is a short 10 minute drive away and has everything you could want. Super nice people too!

We saw a moose the first evening and a couple more with traveling to nearby Driggs, ID for a tire repair.
Whatever you do, don't let your GPS try using "N 5250 W Estate" road to get here. It is nothing more that a rutted out dirt path. My friend's rig was damaged when he traveled on this road. Beware.
Another hazard, be careful when pulling into the camp area if turning left, as there is a ditch drop off and my tandem wheels dropped into it. I mention this because the grass was grown up and it looked level. Stay on the gravel and all will be OK.

We loved this little spot! Not that many people can fit in here but it’s a great little spot! We had our first moose sighting! There was a small herd of maybe six or so that were in the area. They hide in the bushes most of the time but when you get to see them it’s amazing! The sunrises and sunsets were magnificent especially highlighting the Grand Tetons! The dog poop was a little ridiculous, people don’t clean up after their dogs and there are two well behaved neighbor dogs that come and visit. We were the only ones with kids and the place is so peaceful, we tried our hardest to not disturb anyone! Beautiful place and the reception was great, we would definitely come back!

Really a great spot in terms of location. It does feel rather unregulated and like folks would easily take advantage of this during peak months — even on a chilly September weekday there are already about a dozen people here and one off-leash dog. Would be better as a legit campground — the views are just gorgeous.

I’ve spent 2-3 nights tent camping in this campground over the last 5 years. I have tried all summer to stay and only found a small patch of grass to camp 1 night. While I was fishing 2 RVs pulled in and literally were so close to my tent I felt as if they were trying to get me to leave. My Wilson grill was stolen out of the back of my truck while fishing. They really need marked sites as caravans of RVs have taken over the whole campground, Many have been there for several months. I think it could be considered just a free trailer park now. Trash, dog poop, unleashed dogs, seems like it has become a free place to live at the expense of others that might like to camp 😢 So sad people have forgotten how to share.

Just beyond the float/boat area an open, level field with concrete picnic tables, fire rings, and a dirt road encircling it welcomes campers of all types - big rig, small rig, tent, car.
Access to the site is easy, and the roads to the camping area are either paved and wide, or well-graded dirt and wide (depending on which direction you are coming from - if you bypass CR 5200. DO NOT TAKE ANY ROAD IN THE 5000s... unless you enjoy deeply rutted, lump ridden, exhaust pipe eating 4x4 tracks. Your mapping app may try to trick you down this road - IGNORE. From Driggs, head West on Bates Road (paved) until you hit 6000 (paved), then take a right. Take another right on 2000 (well-graded dirt). You're there.
We were here over the 4th of July (2019) and it did get pretty busy - but everyone found a spot to squeeze in. Tent area is close to the river - or anywhere. Generators are in use here - and folks enjoyed themselves into the mid evening. However, the mosquitos that populate the area tended to drive folks indoors before it got too late.
There is a moose that lived here in June/July of 2019, and we'd see him in the evening and mornings walking to and from the river.
There is a 10 day stay limit, and there are definitely some folks who use their full 10 days. The area was patrolled several times a day by the sheriff and/or fish&game.
Vault toilets are relatively clean - the occasional poop smear or pyramid could be located. Pack your own TP and hand soap.
AT&T was solid without enhancement - 7.5Mbps down, 10Mbps up. Verizon without enhancement was 32.5Mbps down, 6Mbps up.

The road was a washboard coming in. That is part of the reason for a three. As far as I can tell the campsites are not numbered, pick a spot and go. Open field nothing mowed lots of ruts. It is peaceful and you have a view of the Tetons. Great place for kayaking and fishing. 2 moose were in the river.
