This is one of our favorite thousand trails location. It feels like a state park, where the sites are not on top of one another. It’s close to amazing fly fishing spots (which we loved) and close to downtown Bend. We stayed here in August and loved our time! The pool and hot tub were working and the pickle ball courts were renovated. There is no sewer at sites, but they do have a dump station. We both work remote and starlink worked great for us - with a site with little tree coverage. We stayed here two different times for a total of 3 weeks and would stay again!

We were welcomed by a nice fellow. Just needed an overnight. Facilities are showing their age but it’s clean and safe and quiet. Just fine. A bit expensive but you are in an expensive part of Oregon.

We enjoyed our stay. We just try to focus on the positives at the Thousand Trails campgrounds and manage our expectations.
Pros
-beautiful state park like setting
-the sites are huge and surrounded by trees
-the staff we encountered were all pleasant
-the camp store was well stocked
-the pool and clubhouse were lovely
-wonderful area to explore-fishing was great, highly recommend day trip to Crater Lake, Sun River was also cool.
-In and around the camp store are hundreds of domesticated rabbits. It is quirky and fun to sit and watch them and feed them with pellets sold at the camp store. They are all so cute!
-great Starlink reception, we stayed in the J section and placed it in the meadow in the back of the site.
Cons
-no sewer which I understand at these old parks, but no “Honey Wagon” service.
- like most Thousand Trails parks we have encountered, the bathrooms are filthy, old, and gross, and the dumpsters overflowing.
- We are perplexed that the pool is only open Tuesday-Saturday

After having full timed for a couple years but our first time on the west coast, I mostly knew what to expect. If you have TT membership, you’ll enjoy your stay. Reminds me of a state park - lots of trees and good space between rigs
Pros -
- big sites
- close to great things to do (All Trails was helpful but we also were part of the Republic of Nomads’ event here May 2023 so a ton of stuff was planned for us)
- no problems with water or electricity, even 30 amp with a 50 amp rig in May (AC used only a couple times)
- T-Mobile is alright but no Starlink in loop L
- disc golf
- river drop in/take out if you want to paddle or float
Cons -
- pool not open (and apparently hasn’t been for maybe years?)
- no sewer hookups
- bathrooms and dump stations aren’t everywhere (especially bathrooms, we were in section L with the closest bathrooms a 5+ minute walk in section B)
- some sections closed (not sure if this is a beginning of busy season thing or if this happens often)
- only RV or medical packages accepted
- mosquitoes at least at L18 are miserable - you HAVE to keep Thermacell going any time you want to go outside. I also used OFF deep woods and wore a mosquito jacket as often as possible
- Rec center was closed due to a water issue (kind of guessing it’s longer term like the pool situation)
I would/will go again but hopefully closer to a bathroom and further away from the river. If you’re there during summer, you can spend time in Sunriver which is amazing (and way less mosquitoes), pay for the SHARC (indoor/outdoor pool and water slides/lazy river and snack bar), go paddling, amazing bike paths for 30+ miles.
Go to Bend for groceries etc.

Why are employees speeding around in there carts! Then they tell you to keep it at 5 miles per hour. Not handicapped friendly bathrooms aren't either. Mold growing everywhere! No sewer here! Pool shut down for season in August! Really!

Stayed at this campground for 14 nights. I liked that it was a safe & secure place to stay. Site was pretty level, decently spaced and in the trees. Felt like this was a forest service campground, but with water and electric.
Pool remains closed for repairs. Many of the common areas /buildings are in need of repair. The laundry room had many machines out of order. I was happy with my stay and would stay again. If I paid retail and wanted amenities I would be left disappointed. Had great Verizon signal. Able to talk, text, search internet, and stream videos.
