We arrived on New Year’s Eve. No one here! CAUTION: you can’t turn on to the forest service road southbound on US 97. Only Northbound. Fantastic spot surrounded by evergreens. So many national forest and state campgrounds are closed this time of year. Just come here first. Close to Bend.

We didn’t have any other campers during our 8 day stay. It is dusty here but such amazing scenery. Would stay again if we were in the area.

This place was great! If you take the road to the left, it goes back about 1/4 mile where there is a large area for parking. Verizon and ATT both had service. Couldn’t hear the highway noise either. Free and close enough to Bend that we enjoyed it!

Sounds like the road crew has taken over since we were there on May 11, 2022. It was a tricky maneuver to get through the construction at the Lambertiana Road crossing on Hwy 97. Entrance is currently a staging area for large road construction equipment. Dusty and noisy. Drove through but moved on. Not crazy about road noise in general. Would probably not come back.

Right off the 97 hwy. Once you enter the dirt road from the hwy stay straight for about 5 mins. Road looks tight but not as bad as it looks. We have a 40 foot class A and had no problems. After a 5 min dirt drive there is a large opening on the left. It had a lot of dirt bike track which make it look bumpy. We camped to the right of the large opening. It’s was level and had great sun for our solar. Recommend this location if your just wanting to get away, stopping overnight or staying to travel to bend for the day.
