A little cell coverage if you have Team Mobile only. I go there frequently. It is cold at night and in the morning at this elevation so come prepared with layers of clothing. Afternoon showers are frequent so having a canopy is wise.

Sites are now $20 per night as of June 2024. And it is located in Yampa, CO. From the campground sites, there is no view of the lake as the lake is located outside of the campground.

Some site have views of the Flat Tops, most don't and it's a short walk to the lake.
The road is dirt most of the way in and it was a rough ride. Be advised that sheep are brought in to graze here. About 1,000 were unloaded not far from the CG when we were there.
Mosquitoes are legendary here but weren't too bad during our stay, which was in mid-July 2019.

I want to go back and spend 3-4 days here. The sites are spread out and provide tons of privacy. There are no views of the reservoir from the sites but some of them have great scenic views. No cell service. We had TONS of mosquito when we were there. Better the next day due to the wind but I think mosquitos are an issue if it had rain in previous days. I would still go back. NO cell service.

Bear Lake is actually outside of the campground so there is no lake side camping or lake views from the actual campground, but if you camp below it at Yamcolo Reservoir or above it at Cold Springs Campground, the views are spectacular.
And the town of Yampa is very unique and neat. Population of 400 people, all gravel roads, no stoplights, and public showers at Van Camp Cabins for $10 in town. Yampa has a western cowboy ranch feel to it according to all my guests that come visit, they love it for that reason.
