“Hard to get a site (also not located in Meeker, it is located in Yampa, CO)”

Pretty, but popular and hard to get a site as it only has 5 sites. The higher elevation makes for cool nights and cool mornings even in the middle of the summer. Very close by to several trail heads for hiking and 3 reservoirs, a river and a pond right there. There are other areas to camp though near there outside the campground if this one is full.

the area is actually just west of Yampa, so not close to Meeker at all. There are only 5 spaces available at this campground but along the road up to the reservoir, there are many spots and still some available late on Friday and Saturday. Bear Lake Campground was wide open on Friday afternoon. It is lovely as well but doesn't have the views that Cold Springs has. We have a 24' camper and had no problem backing in to site #5. Site #1 was a pull through for a larger camper, and the other 3 are smaller. The waterfall/spring going into the fresh pond was beautiful and although mosquitos were definitely present, body spray kept them at bay for the most part. Fishing in the pond was a fun experience. Lots of families even ones not staying at the campground came around to bring children to fish. Stocked with trout. Hiking all around, no cell service.

steereb would stay here again
