Zia is a convenient, well maintained, quiet and reasonably priced rv campground. We’ve stayed here 4 times and have always been pleased. Ashley and Hayden are quick to answer any questions. They’ve added a well thought out dump station now and more amenities to come I see.

We stayed here overnight while traveling between Texas and New Mexico. The campground is located right off exit 203 on I-40. Check-in was at 2pm, but we were running 20 minutes ahead of schedule and called to ask if we could get into our site a bit early; they texted back to say that was fine (we had a specific site reserved). We probably would have had to call them anyway as there was no one in the office when we arrived: they have a phone number posted if you need help when they're not around.
The campground is basically a large gravel lot with some mid-sized trees and a single row of 22 pull-through sites. All of the sites are long enough to fit the longest rigs, have more side-to-side space than many private campgrounds, and are open to the sky. Sites 1 through 8 only have water and electric (there is a dump station at the west end of the campground), while the rest of the sites have full hookups. Each power pole has a light inside that provides some illumination at night, and the water spigots are insulated and electrically heated to some degree (though we still disconnected the water overnight when it got cold). We were in site 9, which was level side-to-side but a bit inclined front-to-back, and no adjacent trees (just a short tree in the very front of the site).
The campground is still currently a work in progress: the planned bathroom, shower, and laundry facilities are not available yet. But they do have a community/recreation area with a pergola, a swing set, and a horseshoe pit, as well as a small kiosk under their flagpole that serves as a lending library. Next to that community area is their enclosed dog park, which has a surface of dirt, scattered gravel, and some desert grasses. The dog park is decently lit at night and has a poop bag dispenser, but no sort of trash can, so full poop bags need to be put in the single dumpster near the entrance of the park. There are other open areas with desert grasses on the edges of the campground to walk dogs.
In terms of cell service, the best bandwidth I saw on my Verizon Jetpack with MIMO antenna showed 16 Mbps down and 9 up, and we were able to stream video with some sporadic buffering. The speed test I ran on my 5G AT&T smartphone showed 33 Mbps down and 1 up. There is no campground WiFi.
The campground is really the only thing located at this exit. If you need fuel, groceries, etc., your best bet is to drive 7 miles west into Moriarty.
We would stay here overnight again if we were in the area.

Registration is very easy, just call or go on the website as no one is usually in the office. There is a little freeway noise but nothing unbearable. The sunsets are the most gorgeous and night sky viewing is amazing.
We will definitely stop in again on our annual trips to California to see the kids!

Great spot to spend the night. We had full hook ups and it was quiet. We were able to walk our dogs without issue, there is a dog run. Watch an awesome sunset after the rain and get a good night of sleep. The only issue we had were the moths that will make a home any place they can squeeze in to, but that is New Mexico.

Traveling from Mesa AZ to Foss OK as part of a longer trip. Booked Zia online the day before as it was halfway between my stops. Easy booking process. Had a bent rim/flat at the AZ/NM line and was delayed several hours. Talked with the owner by phone and he was very accommodating. Simply pulled in later and went straight to my spot. Never met in person. Easy off I-40, easy on. Some road noise from the freeway but nothing a little white noise couldn't drown out. Very clean, decently spaced sites. Beautiful views and sunsets, and quite a bit of wind, but it is NM. No bath facilities as of yet, as the campground is a work in progress. I would hazard a guess it will be quite nice once completed. Would stay there again if passing through. Gave it a 5, but really is a 4.5 due to no bath facilities, which could be a problem for teadrops or smaller units with no bath.
