“Traditional BLM campground located conveniently in Canyon Rims Rec Area.”
Reviewed Nov 10, 2015
We drove through the campground in early November but decided to find a boondocking site nearby instead. This first-come first served campground is 6 miles off of Hwy 191 and is operated by the BLM. It's on a gravel road and sites are sited along the Roan Bailey Mesa overlooking the Canyon Rims.
It's a pretty standard BLM campground, perhaps a little forgotten with its old-school wooden picnic tables. Not a soul was there when we visited. Drinking water is available from May until it freezes later in the fall. Some shade is available from the pinon and juniper trees.
Not suitable for longer rigs or those needing hookups or generators. Spotty and weak Verizon signal.
