“Sun and lake views”

Overall Rating
All the sites have lake views, but many don’t have much shade. Sites 1 to 8 some have some shade. We were in site 3 and mid day is the sunniest. About site 19 to 22 has some shade. Then sites 23 to 25. There is no road noise and it’s dark at night, which is nice. The sites are long and have a roomy picnic area at each site.

Campground is located just outside of Manhattan which is convenient for any needs. Do not confuse this campground with Tuttle Creek “STATE” Park, which is just down the road. Campground is located just outside of Manhattan which is convenient for any needs.
Do not confuse this campground with Tuttle Creek “STATE” Park, which is just down the road. This one is bookable on recreation.gov
We stayed here 2 separate weeks, 4 nights each. 1st week was site 9 on the Lake Shore Loop and our 2nd week was site 30 on the Tuttle Point Loop. Both offered 50amp & water. Dump station is located at the entrance to the campground. Both sites offered good views of the lake but site 30 offered a view from the front window of the coach.
The sites are rock & are very well maintained. But typical of COE parks in KS, leveling can be an issue. We had to use blocks under the wheels in addition to the jacks on site 9.
The swimming beach at this campground has long been closed. Not sure why but possibly due to the floods of a few years ago. We had no contact with the hosts as the entrance station was not open.
Both of our stays were during the week and after Labor Day so the park was quiet with only a handful of campers.

“Not Very Level”

We were originally booked in space 33 however the pitch was nearing the 4% range making it nearly impossible to level, therefore moved to space 29 which wasn’t nearly as bad but still not level.
In cruising around the park I’d say maybe half the spaces here are level. Otherwise a beautiful lakeside park.

We had planned to stay here Sep 2019 but recreation.gov noted it was closed due to flooding for the year so be sure to check first!
