Scenery is stunning. Sites were level enough we didn’t need blocks. Drinking water 30 yards away and decently maintained public toilets are everywhere. Water hose & dump stations at the entrance. WiFi signal was decent for calls, texts & social media. Fire pit is large.
Got windy and mosquitos came out at dusk & dawn.

Sites appear to be level but our first 3 attempts we could not correct for the slope. The 4th site worked. The location was perfect for the activities we planned. The campground never filled up while we were here.

This campground was our Plan B; we originally wanted to boondock in the Movie Road Alabama Hills Recreation Area, but we got here late, and my wife wasn't comfortable with the idea of finding a boondocking site so late. This campground is just a couple miles south of Movie Rd; the road that connects this campground to the main road is paved but in bad shape, so drive slow. The road is very narrow; I don't know how it would have worked if a Fifth Wheel or a big Class A had come from the other side. Having said that, as soon as we got there, we were floored. The landscape is gorgeous.
In the campground, the campsites are not paved, just packed dirt. There are a cement bench and a lantern hook. Our campsite backed up to Turtle Creek at a short distance; we could hear the water. The views of the Sierras were terrific. I have a few pictures taken from the small top windows of the AirStream, and they look like postcards. There is a self-check-in. There are also Vault Toilets, which were very clean. I can't comment on the water, we did see spigots in the campground, but we came with a full tank, so we never needed any. The campsites are well distant from each other.
It can get windy sometimes; the wind can be very strong, so be prepared for that. The temperatures would vary from 39F to 65F when we were here during Spring. You can go for the hikes by driving to the Movie Road area. You can also do off-roading if that interests you. In the Movie Flats area, we found a lot of RVs parked and enjoying the boondocking. The smaller RVs like Vans can get further down and into stunning areas.
We had a great time here and will come back in the future.

Lots of speed bumps to slow "traffic". I'd honestly be super comfy staying here for a month!

Sites were $5 per night. Each site has a cement picnic table, a fire ring, and a place to hang a camp lantern. Pit toilets were clean but non-potable water and the dump station here was padlocked. The surrounding views were just amazing.

This is a gorgeous campground with incredible scenery. We camped here in February, so nights got quite cold and we hit a cold snap with high wind warning for 3 days straight. It’s 5$ A night in winter as there is no water or dump station available.
It has great Verizon cell reception, we worked remotely here all week, no problems.
The grounds include pit toilets, fire pit, and garbage. There are no other dump stations near Lone Pine other than this campground. And the only place to fill propane in town is the Chevron up the way.
We would definitely stay here again, but probably during the warmer season March-June or possibly fall. The hiking is amazing near the Alabama Hills. We had fun watching Tremors on our I-pad one night as it was filmed very close to this campground.
Overall we had a great stay and highly recommend! Oh yeah! Visit the Alabama Hills Cafe and Bakery in town for some glorious breakfast and homemade baked goods : )

Get here in the shoulder seasons! It’s perfect! Camp was about 10 percent full and we got a prime spot tucked up close to the Sierras. It gets cold at night and the spots take some magic to get level but once you do it’s gorgeous!
