A camping permit and park pass, valid for the length of stay, are required. Please display your camping permit in a visible location. Campers must register (at kiosk or self-registration) with their camping unit prior to setting up camp.
A fire permit is required for each night you have a fire.

I travelled here with a 35’ 5th wheel, long bed pickup and parked in site #A50, a FHU, 50A BI site for $28 plus the National Park pass. The roads and site were asphalt. The A and B loops were made more for larger rigs so it was easy to navigate. Most of the sites are parallel and very close together. This site was kind of on a curve so it had a little more room around it. The site also has a side space which is good for parking your tow vehicle or a boat. NOTE: do not assume you can hang the back of your rig over the end of the paved area. There is a big barrier so pay attention to the length of the site and make selections accordingly. The bathhouse on A loop was already closed for the season. I checked the one on D loop and it was very nice. The showers had a curtain between the stall and changing area so your stuff wouldn’t get wet. There was also a bench in the changing area. There were not many trees on A loop. Other loops for the smaller rigs had more. B Loop was closed for the season and it didn’t have many trees either. Connectivity: surprisingly good! 3 bars LTE with Verizon International Plan, sometimes 5G, 160-273 mbps download speeds, was able to stream, didn’t check for OTA channels, no wifi. It probably helped that the campground was pretty empty. It was an easy walk to the Visitor’s Center, some trailheads, and town. Many stores and restaurants were already closed for the season. Very small grocery store so come prepared. NOTE: no diesel fuel available in Waterton. Fill up in Pincher Creek before heading to the park. Great hiking all around. I wanted to take the boat to Glacier and hike back, but the boat was not running. It was still a fabulous time, but I did miss out on some things because it was so late in the season. I plan to come back.

“NO diesel fuel”

Small gas station with NO diesel fuel. No groceries. Propane cheaper than US. Closest real town 40 miles away.

The sites are too close with zero privacy. Even your own site is not really your own. People both children and adults cutting through our site. Would not recommend if the camping itself is your goal. The sites are too close with zero privacy. Even your own site is not really your own. People both children and adults cutting through our site. Would not recommend if the camping itself is your goal. Works well if you just land here at night to sleep. Fortunately there is alot to see and do in the area that can keep you out of camp. The views are spectacular. I would highly recommend the boat ride to Goat Haunt. Also they have a one hole dump station. Can get quite the line waiting.

Waterton National Park must be Canada's best kept secret. If you are a hiker or paddler of any kind you will think you've died and gone to heaven. Vast well-maintained hiking trails and crystal clear lakes. Three nights was not nearly enough!
As for the campground: most sites are within 100 yd of the main lake. The beaches, trails, lakes and town are very dog friendly and you can walk to them all right from the campground. The showers are decent, and free and hot. The bathrooms are well maintained. The pitches are decently spaced, but there is very little vegetation so little privacy. But it gets very quiet at night.
A fantastic alternative to the very overcrowded Glacier National Park. I highly recommend the boat trip that leaves multiple times a day and heads up the lake towards Glacier. And the local ice cream shop which makes a delightful lavender lemonade ice cream (among many other flavors.)

Nice area, a lot to do in walking distance. No need to drive to town or to hiking trails etc. Had electric hookup and dump and water was available. Showers and bathrooms on site

Unfortunately, this feels like a large, busy campground. The sites are exposed with very little tree cover. Luckily it is a short walk back into the wilderness. On the plus side, the bathrooms and showers are some of the nicest we have come across. Wildlife is abundant in Waterton and the campground is no exception. The fire that swept through in 2017 definitely changed the landscape but it is a natural process that will give way to new life over time.

There are about 8 FCFS sites at the very front of the campground which we thankfully were able to grab one of. Check out is at 11, so arrive a little earlier than that to have a chance to grab one. Sites filled up very quickly. All other sites are reservable and were totally booked up even during the week. Prices vary based on what ame... more

Sites filled up very quickly. All other sites are reservable and were totally booked up even during the week. Prices vary based on what amenities you have at your site. FCFS sites have no hookups. No privacy at any sites. Bathrooms were kept clean with nice-enough showers. We ended up enjoying staying in town despite the fact that we typically prefer secluded mountain campsites. Having access to walk such a cool town was worth the lack of privacy. Many hiking trailheads within walking distance.

First a note on rates. The 35 amp, FHU pull-through campsites list for about $37 Canadian per night, but there is also a $11 Canadian fee for each reservation. With the exchange rate, we ended up paying about $32 per night including the amortized reservation fee. Our biggest mistake is that we should have stayed longer, MUCH longer! ... more

With the exchange rate, we ended up paying about $32 per night including the amortized reservation fee. Our biggest mistake is that we should have stayed longer, MUCH longer!
There is a river that runs through the campground, which makes access a little disconcerting the first time, but once you figure out the route its not a big deal. The campground is open and sunny (at least when we were there!) with larger than average grassy patches between each site. Roads and the essential level sites are paved with asphalt which is aging but still very serviceable. The campground is walking distance to town where there are lots of tempting eating opportunities.
We were visited daily by herds of big horned sheep and a few deer who worked to keep the grass trimmed.
While we were there we didn't experience anything other than a light breeze but they did have a reputation for high winds at times.
I can't speak to Verizon or AT&T connectivity because I don't have Canadian service on either of those accounts, BUT!!! my Google Fi phone as a hotspot was leveraging a TMobile tower that only showed 3 bars but was testing at 45.79 down & 19.74 up to my laptop. Pretty much the fastest data connection I've seen on any of my devices.
There are LOTS of hikes as well as other recreation opportunities and almost all the trails we tried were dog friendly.
The bathrooms and showers were spotless. It's the first time I've bothered to take a picture of a bathroom sink, but each time I was there they were that clean and shiney. The free, hot, showers are very well designed with a curb and shower curtain that does a great job of keeping the changing area dry. Shower controls are a single push button, but one push lasted longer than I would have normally used for a shower.
There was one unusual point worth noting. The sewer drain hookup is in the center of the parking pad. I noticed it before we unhitched so we just positioned the trailer towards one edge. Others got all set up and then realized that someone would have to crawl under their rig to finish their utilities hookup.
We were very impressed and already talking about potentially restructuring next summer's travels to allow extended time in the area.
