How noisy was the road noise if you were on the very back row of the resort, farthest from the highway?

Site type: Premium Shared Pull through FHU 50 AMP
Would stay again if another option is not available.
THE GOOD
Sites: Grass patio area. Well-maintained. Nice picnic table. A couple of small trees. The shared patio area would be amazing, if it were not a shared patio and you could enjoy it to yourself like normal.
Sites: The shared sites would be really nice for groups sharing the same patio as a buddy site.
Grounds: Clean with a nice store. Laundry were also nice. Pool was usually occupied and seemed like a good spot for fun.
Facilities: Laundry was clean and well-maintained.
Connectivity: Good enough for us to work our remote jobs during the week.
Parking: There are assigned parking spots for folks that need it (I believe they pay extra).
THE BAD:
Sites: Very tight. The shared sites are even tight on the hookup side where your windows are 5 feet from the neighbor window. Sometimes worse if they have large slide-outs.
Parking: LOTS of people with multiple vehicles parked...poorly and taking up neighbors' space.
WORTH NOTING (Not good or bad)
Environment: Lots of vacationers and UTV/ATV folks with lots of stuff on their shared patios. Not always respectful.
Traffic: Like many Moab RV parks, it is on the main road and has continuous traffic. The impact of being in a prime spot.
KOA/Sun Outdoors: We moved to KOA (see KOA Moab review) after the 2 weeks at Sun Outdoors Arches Gateway. Sun Outdoors always is expensive and feels a bit more touristy than KOA. We would choose KOA over Sun Outdoors next time.

Gravel, gravel everywhere with the dust that comes with...the only thing we liked was the outside sinks for pot washing. Way, way overpriced.

We were here in November, so the park was mostly empty. Most of the sites have grass.
Only negative is that the sites are extremely close to each other. You hear some road noise, but I’m the farthest away from the road, so not too bad.

Yes they have the Jack and Jill hookups and yes the sites aren’t that wide; you’re not going to get the “State Park” experience at an RV Park in Moab! There was plenty of room for slides to go out, and in the evening we close our blinds anyway, so not an issue with privacy. Sites were level, the park is nicely treed, and people were friendly. They have a nice dog park in the main RV area, and 2 other gravel pet enclosures at the far end of the park near the tent/truck camper area; so the pup got to play ball! There was a nice pool and hot tub area, lawn games, a store and laundry room. Credit cards were not working but quarters worked fine. The views were nice with mountains in every direction. The only down side for us was a truck parked in the corner that was perhaps renting out ATVs and they were a bit noisy when they were returned . Fortunately they were only there on the weekend and the rest of the time it was very quiet

The rate was double to what was indicated in Campendium (85$ + tax), a bit of a sticker shock. They have just changed their name to Sun Outdoors Arches Gateway. The staff was very friendly and they have invested in upgrading their property. If you have a towing vehicle most likely you won't be able to park it with your RV, since the sites are very narrow and tight so there is an "extra vehicle parking" area for your TV. Be sure to negotiate when you book your reservation or it could be a 16$ extra charge to park your TV. The Park is very close to the Arches entrance and close to downtown Moab and you are surrounded by the Moab-red cliffs, and it's right off from the main road that crosses Moab (a bit noisy in the daytime).

“Horrible Customer Service”
noted 6/5/2022
This company and RV site have horrible customer service. If something comes up and you are forced to cancel, you can call them repeatedly, and they won't answer. You can leave a voicemail; they won't return it. When will they contact you? When they call to ask why you didn't show up for your reservation. Then they will tell you that despite your attempts to cancel, they will not give you a refund; instead, they will provide you with a credit that they know you can't use. This is unacceptable and an example of horrible customer service; also, it is a borderline scam. Do not use this campsite.
