The 2 mile gravel road in was in great shape. We didn’t stay in the actual campground but found a flat spot nearby. Quiet and peaceful. Very big rig friendly. No amenities.

We found this site on Campendium. The dirt road was a little rough, but very passable with a pickup and 32 ft 5th wheel. Some sites have covered picnic tables. This is an OHV trailhead, but we experienced almost no noise. Expect some light wind. We stayed 3 nights. Would come back again. We use a weBoost with Verizon.

Great place to camp, very quiet, clean, and plenty of trails to walk or ride a mountain bike. If you’re looking for TV stations you’re in luck. I place an antenna up and got 13 channels and one Spanish channel. I have Verzion and received three bars outside, but with the weboost inside, I was getting about 13 to 14 for speed, and my internet was good for anything I needed to do! Place is dark and the sky is the center attention with all the stars. I sat on the back porch of the trailer, had a beer nightly and enjoyed the movie of our solar system. I’ll be making this one of my spots for now on, traveling up north and on the way back. The town of Pioche is about 6 or 7 miles south from here. You can get water, food, fuel, a place to dump your tanks, or just stop and visit, grab some food at the local dinner. The town has a post office there to. If you need a package delivered. The ladies there will give you an address there to have general deliveries. Can’t say enough good things about my stay here. If you’re looking for a great place to rest for a few days, or longer. This is the spot. Two miles off the main road, and the dirt road is accessible for all vehicles and trailers, class A’s, and so forth.

The earlier review gives excellent directions on getting to this campground. There is a brown sign on the highway, but it labels the area as OHV/Stampede Trail not a campground. The road to the campground is a very smooth dirt road, approximately 2 miles, stay left at all forks. The campground has a large open area with a few shaded picnic tables and grills, and there are some spots with fire rings tucked into the trees. The camping area is level. The night we stayed, there were 3 class As with OHVs and a truck camper. The area is very quiet and clean and approximately 12 miles to Pioche. There are no services, no bathroom, no water and no garbage cans. There is AT&T cell service. We really liked this spot and would stay again.

Also one other camper pulled in made dinner and then moved on. all alone after that. This is not marked as Stampede Campground on the Hwy, it is called Silver State OHV trailhead. There is so much camping in this area, but having this place all to ourselves was just what we wanted. We travel with 3 dogs and a cat that are all used to being free range so we usually pick our spots based on some room for them to roam. Pioche is just down the road if you need anything.

Stampede Campground is located about five miles north of Pioche. There are signs on Route 93 indicating the turnoff. After turning onto the dirt road it's two miles to the campground.
The entrance road is graded and well maintained. As you near the campground the road will fork twice. Stay to the left at each fork. If you go right you'll end up in a sand pit, but there is plenty of room in there to turn around if you get there by mistake.
The coordinates of the actual campground are 37.977339 -114.537483. The turnoff coordinates are 37.995080, -114.509201.
Stampede is dry camping only. There are three shade structures with picnic tables and fire rings but that's about it for the amenities. No vault toilets, no trash bins, just parking and solitude.
There is a ton of room for any size rig. If you want a shade structure and table you'll be out in the open, but there are smaller spaces tucked into the trees with fire pits as well.
There is not much evidence of traffic, just a few tire tracks. Some of the gravel areas are have weeds growing through so it doesn't look like this place gets used much. I've been here a few times and every time I'm the only person here.
The campground is at 6100 feet elevation so it's a good location to find cooler temperatures in the summer. Bring your ATV / OHV since it is a trailhead to the Silver State Trail which is a network of well marked trails.
I had 3-4 bars on AT&T without a booster. The data rate is very slow so it's OK for voice or surfing, but you won't be streaming video here.
